Great shots! The first pic almost looks like someone went crazy with "rendering" people stock.

Excellent photos!

Incredible! It's still kind of shocking to me how small the Chrysler Building looks these days on the skyline.

awesome photos and the airplane shots are miraculous -- i always get the wrong side, smeary window or the exhaust lol.

It's a shame.  That stupid 240-story box is dominating the whole skyline now, and the Freedom Tower is a swing and a miss.

^I'm still disappointed they ran out of money to finish up the spire. The Willis Tower still has a higher roof than 1WTC, doesn't it?

hang on, only for about 15 more minutes lol.

Yes.

one wtc has a bogus spire that was charitably deemed as architectural, although it is really just an antenna, so that ridiculously bumps up its official height.

so its 1792' to the tip (not 1776') and the highest occupied floor is at 1,268' (sears/willis highest occupied floor is at 1354').

to be fair though, i don't think the spire thing is actually a functioning antenna, the broadcast equipment is in the ring at its base, so i suppose that does give it some creedence as being a spire if its really not an antenna. dubious if you ask me, but anyway.

The northern 2-3 miles of Manhattan are pretty interesting.  It's hilly and the grid breaks down.  Probably the most interesting thing about it is that the whole area looks like it was built in about 18 months.  From farms to a forest of 6~ floor apartment buildings.

^Marble Hill is particularly interesting, and not only because it's part of the mainland after the old riverbed got filled in.

yeah for sure there is plenty to explore in upper manhattan.

one of the interesting things you see are old apartment bldgs hanging out on decks over the hillcliffs, that always freaks me out.
