April 25, 20187 yr Author Is the prevalence of angled photos a new style thing that people are doing? When i started shooting photos ( with a cell phone) it happened by accident, but I liked how it looked. Now that I have a DSLR camera I take photos in angles and in normal. Some times I shoot pics angled shots just to fit everything in the shot because I don't have a wide angle lens.

April 27, 20187 yr Author So does this mean you've quit the city-data forum or just reduced your visits like I have? I still go there but I think I ran out of interesting pics to post there. Also here there is no time limit as when you can modify a post. At CD after 2 hours you need to contact an admin. A couple times I wanted to add a pic to a particular post but because of the difficulties in doing that the admin just simply deleted the whole post in which i had to redo the whole post. Very time consuming because I have thousands of pics to sort through to find the exact pics to re-post again.

April 28, 20187 yr So many beautiful photos. Cincinnati is such a photogenic city. Unfortunately these photos capture how eerily underpopulated the streets are. Where are the people?! There are only a few economically functional urban enclaves in Cincinnati that have streetlife. Much of Cincy's public life is 'non-legitimate' to put it delicately. The city was built for a far larger population than it has today. It's genteel decay is very photogenic.
April 28, 20187 yr Author So many beautiful photos. Cincinnati is such a photogenic city. Unfortunately these photos capture how eerily underpopulated the streets are. Where are the people?! The majority of the population in the Cincinnati metro resides in the suburbs or non urban districts of Cincy. Only about 3% out of the 2.2 million metro live in the urban districts of the metro. There is just not enough concentration of people or economic stimulating visitors to have lively streets. That was the whole purpose of the streetcar to address this fundamental problem. Cincy's problem is the lack of fluid transit connectivity among the region's urban districts to overcome the physical barriers of the river and the hills that buffers them off from one another which discourages economically stimulating visitors from other parts of the city. That was the whole purpose of the streetcar as to provide fluid transit connectivity among the urban districts in which residents from various parts of the city would spend money in other various parts of the city facilitating trade among the city. The problem is Ohio is full of anti urban politicians such as Gov Kasich ( who cut funding for the streetcar as to leaving it to small a footprint to achieve its intended purpose) and Cincy's Mayor Cranley (who ran on stopping it altogether) that has no understanding of what makes successful urban districts successful.

Senator Pendleton and a Senate subcommittee drafted the Pendleton Act in this house. The Pendleton Act represents the birth of the modern merit-based civil service for US Government employees.
