Continuing from my 2016 and 2017 threads, I will add some of my aerial photos of Cincinnati here as the year goes on.

They really did a fantastic job with that building on 15th and Vine.

Great shots.

^Indeed.

I love these shots.

It's weird seeing the 12th/Vine buildings different color schemes. It looks great and I love the paint job, but their colors were so ingrained in the revival of OTR since it was the first of 3CDC's renovation projects and was used in so many promotions and still winds up in tons of images of the neighborhood.

The new color schemes on Vine Street feel like the more mature versions of the original cartoony color schemes. Not too different, just slightly more muted.

Nice.  I can see my house.

Awesome! That's a bit higher than I can fly my quadcopter. :)

...but what's amazing is that I'm so used to looking at Google Earth that I know exactly what I'm looking at.  I remember flying over my hometown before satellite imagery and alternately being stumped and then shouting out loud when I recognized something.

Hope you don't mind I posted the pic here. The thread suject was a perfect match. Your drone shots are fantastic btw. I need to get back down there. A lot has been done since last time I was in Cincinnati. Keep the updates coming!

My grandfather took flying lessons in the late 1940s and said it was impossible to tell the towns apart.  His final test was to fly from Cincinnati to Indianapolis to Dayton and back.  At some point he had to land in a farmer's field and ask the guy where the hell he was.

taestell[/member] fantastic photos! They really give unique and very useful views to better understanding new development and the city at-large. You may have already answered this elsewhere, but what kind of drone do you use to take these? Thanks!

Whatever happened to that plan to construct infill on that lot adjacent to music hall?

I believe at one point there was a proposed restaurant/beer garden?

I think that was just something people on this board were talking about / hoping for. As far as I know there is no plan to build anything on the parking lot between Memorial Hall and Music Hall right now.

In that 15th and Vine picture it almost looks like the new construction was a computer generated image for getting design approval.  Yeeesh....
