I'm sure you guys have heard, that the Parma school system did it again. After failing the levy and asking for more money at poll day, the district calculated over a $9 million surplus in the budget even though they were calculating a $9 million deficit for the 2020 fiscal year. All of this after laying off countless staff members and cutting after school programs. This recent news has mostly angered residents and parents in Parma, Parma Heights, and Seven Hills, calling the levy a faulty cash grab. Even then, the district is drawing up plans for another money levy for next voting season.

Someone is really bad with numbers. Almost seems like you barely need a grade school participation award to be district treasurer...

Probably should start a Parma schools thread. This is for construction projects and plans for them.

tastybunns[/member] my mom teaches there, she has to live in constant drama of pending strikes, school closures, levy failures, angry parents, layoffs, budget deficits...

interesting article in today's NY Times Real Estate section about how Black residents in Shaker Heights are becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the schools there (there's not much activity on this thread but I couldn't find one more appropriate for this story)--
