July 18, 2024Jul 18 Is there a construction cam for this one like there was for Hilton 2.0? So exciting to see the progress!

The Hilton rose at a pretty good rate as well. The extremely dry weather we've had has probably also helped with rate of progress. It's rained like one time in the past month.
September 5, 2024Sep 5 Once the building gets above the podium section (which can be complicated) and into the repetitive floors of the tower the pace picks up. That's how it worked on the Hilton.
September 5, 2024Sep 5 This was mentioned back when the Hilton was under construction, but that's a fairly standard pace in a city like Columbus. Concrete-framed towers in high-rise cities like New York and Chicago will go up about twice as fast.

September 24, 2024Sep 24 Anyone know if Spruce Street is planning to be pedestrian only in the future? I saw a few renderings of a plaza of sorts that extended from High St across Park St (possibly knocking down Cantina bar?) to connect to the Arena District.

No idea, but I was Googling the topic and came across the North Market Revitalization Plan from 1982, which was interesting to see.

That section of Spruce really should be pedestrian only, but why would Park Street Cantina be knocked down? It wouldn’t help connect it to the arena district. If anything that stretch of buildings, other than Park Street Tavern, should be torn down and replaced with a decent sized apartment or condo building.

That top portion in the last photo looks too short for a parking garage section. From old renderings it looks like parking is 6 stories and they are starting on the 7th so I think yes. October 23, 2024Oct 23 Pace should start quickening now that we’re on to the more level, standard floor plates. Especially if this warm weather holds up.

November 4, 2024Nov 4 Saw this posted on r/Columbus. Looks like the elevator core is about as tall as Hilton 1.0. https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fh5g9o4y1esyd1.jpg%3Fwidth%3D2108%26format%3Dpjpg%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3D7af0a3bad194d8eb8805deb6f51bc6383fcf889e

November 11, 2024Nov 11 I’m so annoyed there’s no construction cam. Also, did we finally get our first crane jump?

I live a few blocks away, I would almost guarantee it could happen this coming weekend since they will have to close surrounding streets to raise the crane.
November 12, 2024Nov 12 I went to the market tonight for dinner. There were only a handful of visitors walking around and alot of vendors on their phones waiting for customers. I really hope these vendors can hold out until this development is complete. They still have a few years to go. Hopefully, it was just a little slow because it's a Tuesday night and they are more busy on the weekend.

Never seen their dinner traffic for comparison, but anytime I’ve gone there for lunch during the week it’s been packed, especially when any convention is going on. Obviously that’s just anecdotal, and it’d be interesting to see actual sales figures, but things have looked fine from a foot traffic standpoint when I’ve visited.
