My dream streetcar would go something like this with maybe track running down W. 25th to make a figure 8. It would intersect with 3 RTA stations, downtown, W. 25th and W. 65th, travel down the two main corridors and get people in and out of downtown.

That would be enormously convenient for people living in the near West Side neighborhoods.
March 3, 20205 yr Much of that neighborhood, including Hingetown, is already served by some of the best transit service in the state. Seriously, folks, ride the darn bus, it's great. You can go from Hingetown to downtown in like 10 minutes without any planning pretty much all day.
March 3, 20205 yr Well, there's already the 26 Detroit - I think it runs at a 20 to 30 minute interval. I assume there is a similar Lorain Rd route.
March 3, 20205 yr ^Frequency is definitely lousy on the 26, but Church and State is like a three minute walk from West 25th, which has a bus to Downtown every 6 or 7 minutes, on average, thanks to the confluence of several routes. Eastern Ohio City (and Southwestern Ohio City, which has the Red Line station), are very well served.

If I miss a bus in Old Brooklyn (which is serviced by three 51 busses), I'm SOL for at least 25-30 minutes, if not longer. Other neighborhoods barely have a bus an hour. The last place that needs more transit is OC.

March 7, 20205 yr This has ended up looking alot larger than I was expecting it to. What a great presence. Also love seeing the new Snavely building in the background too. In just a few short years this has turned into a pretty dense node.
March 20, 20205 yr It's coming along so well. Really excited to see what art installation will cover the parking deck.
April 11, 20205 yr Had to go get my fix at Saucy today (how great is their walk up window during this??) and snapped some pics: I'm glad they don't have it all walled off with covered fences. Was pretty cool being able to look inside. The pedestrian cut thru is really going to be a great space.
April 13, 20205 yr Received an email today from leasing (since I’m signed up on their email list) that included a bunch of new leasing unit pictures! Looks really nice - bright and open. The email said that first building move-ins are planned for mid June.
April 15, 20205 yr Looks like the tower crane has come down. Bittersweet, but cranes are definitely becoming a more common sight here in Cleveland ?
April 17, 20205 yr Not a huge difference from the last photos posted but starting to get an idea of what the facade color scheme will turn out like.

I think @GISguy was just referring to replacing the HPS bulbs with LED, in which case he is correct. But mentioning the streetscape projects...that has always driven me bananas. How is there not a city-wide or at least neighborhood wide design standard? There have to be 700 different types of light poles and 400 different trash cans in this city.
April 19, 20205 yr A pic from right before the snow this week... this looks great from the ground up.
April 19, 20205 yr I took a long walk this morning and snapped some crappy cellphone pics. I was pleasantly surprised to see the impact on the skyline when looking from the Lorain/ Carnegie bridge. The pic really doesn’t do it justice. My hovercraft is full of eels
May 2, 20205 yr I couldnt snap a photo since i was on the shoreway but the view of all three of these projects rising up was amazing.. ill see if i can get a picture from a nice angle.. but it brought a tear to my eye!
May 2, 20205 yr ^ Agreed. I had the same reaction coming over the Detroit-Superior Bridge yesterday. Its such an extreme difference from when I lived there two years ago. When I moved I never thought this neighborhood would be looking like this in such a short amount of time.

So, given the progress and visibility of the project, is this a major concern? (I know we’re in an unprecedented market due to the crisis, perhaps I’m answering my own question?)

May 7, 20205 yr I also love the brochures mention of that "forthcoming mixed use development" They put the point in the wrong spot on the map, but I assume that since it'll be built where the Vibrator Company was, that the project is the 120 unit "The Vibe" as seen here:

June 6, 20205 yr I just drove through this neighborhood! I am so \excited to see this and other activated! It looks so beautiful
June 8, 20205 yr That neighborhood sure is looking different in a great way! Thanks for the photos @MuRrAy HiLL @ASPhotoman @MayDay and all of those that keep out-of-town Cleveland fans in the loop! June 13, 20205 yr Author This could go in the general Ohio City thread, but since it's a product of Church+State's developers, next door to said development and includes an update about that development, I shall place it here. Thanks again to @tykaps for finding info.... FRIDAY, JUNE 12, 2020 Longhouse huts proposed for Ohio City's Hingetown One of the hallmarks of the Hingetown section of Cleveland's Ohio City neighborhood is that it is a place where new ideas and businesses can gain a foothold. When entrepreneur Graham Veysey and his wife Marika Shioiri-Clark, a social impact designer, set out to invest in then-rundown Hingetown a decade ago, they started by creating and inviting new businesses. Finding new ways to foster creativity requires its own inspiration and embracing of new ideas. Their latest brainchild, the Longhouses of Hingetown, was inspired by a new development in Detroit, a project called True North. June 15, 20205 yr That last pic isn't an angle you see often, awesome! I've got to say with the cladding going up it looks a lot better in person than the renderings. It looked pretty strange on paper but I dig it.
June 17, 20204 yr Wow! That wood facade!!! I wonder if a facade that specific means they already have a tenant for that space?

Very true. I did notice this silhouette last night on the Church and State facade. Hard to see (And poor picture quality) but it says “Black Lives Matter.” Definitely not aligned with the Georges there...
