July 18, 20222 yr not right downtown, but still in a great spot for a slice joint --- and filling in the vincenza's slice gap? RESTAURANT REVIEWS City Slice Pizzeria Brings Gigantic New York-Style Slices to Cleveland’s West Side A balance of crust, sauce and cheese creates the perfect slice By Douglas Trattner on Wed, Jul 13, 2022 at 6:52 am City Slice Pizzeria might be the closest thing Cleveland has to a neighborhood slice shop in Brooklyn, Staten Island or any of the five boroughs for that matter. This sliver of a storefront is loud, bustling and filled with the unmistakable sights and sounds of an old-world pizzeria. Heck, they even have a pizzamaker named Mikey. Cleveland has no shortage of pizza places, but we’re sorely lacking in slice shops, the kind of places where a hungry shopper can be in and out in a few minutes with zero advance planning. And if we’re counting slice shops that traffic in real-deal New York-style pie, the number drops to almost zero – especially now that we’ve lost Vincenza’s. more: https://www.clevescene.com/food-drink/city-slice-pizzeria-brings-gigantic-new-york-style-slices-to-clevelands-west-side-39313941 City Slice Pizzeria 12021 Lorain Ave., Cleveland 216-273-7504 looks correct! 👍

September 7, 20222 yr Question for you guys.. I have been doing alot of traveling over the last two years and in my adventures i have been to many similar sized cities. I have noticed that most of these cities have wonderful eclectic Pizza by the slice places where you can grab a quick slice. Not your traditional pep or cheese ones either. I am talking things like mac n chz pizza, pierogi pizza, buffalo chicken, and pickle pizza. I know Cleveland has fantastic pizza establishments but it seriously is lacking something like this. Do you fine people think something like this would be successful in Downtown Cleveland as a quick lunch spot and a late night after bar stop?

September 13, 20222 yr Speaking of slices, walked past the Vincenza's space this morning and all of the stainless steel fixtures have been moved towards the door. I saw a few folks in there a couple weeks ago looking like they were spec'ing the place out. Curious what's in the cards for the space, honestly it's big enough to split into two separate restos. And in the same building, it's kind of a bummer what happened to the Indies space - cool that Sushi 86/Poke were able to take over the storefront and grow, but the way they did it, it kind of killed the small food court vibe of the area.
