People are enthusiastic about it because they got gobbled up by the hype.

Its also an incredible burger if you haven't tried it.  IMO better than Five Guys, B Spot or (barely) Swenson's.

I have tried it.  Its a good burger, Its not mind blowingly better than other burgers we have in town.  Its a good burger though.  If its convenient i would grab one.

I went to meet friends at Shake Shack a few weeks ago at the local mall, as we were curious about the hype. Nope. Really long line with over an hour wait lol.

Wait, arent you in Cali? isnt shake shack looked down upon out in Inn n Out country?

Haha, I know there are very strong opinions out here. [whisper voice] I actually think Inn n Out is just...pretty good......

Ohio has great options already imho. Heck in Lakewood alone there are so many great burger options, like Smokin Thyme, LBM, Jammy Buggars, Lakewood Village, Flying Rib, Booths, and more.

No way a Shake Shack can make a better burger than Johnny's Little Bar.  Ain't. Possible.

They cheat by using filet mignon!

So good.

Columbus' Condado lands its first space in Cleveland

condado-joe-kahn*750xx2650-1493-0-53.jpg

Condado is heading north.

The growing Columbus-based restaurant brand expects to open its first spot in Cleveland in late 2018 or early 2019. The taco restaurant will be in Pinecrest, a 400,000-square-foot mixed-use development in the suburb of Orange Village.

It’s a new market for Condado, but not for founder Joe Kahn, who co-founded the Barrio taco shop chain there in 2012. He left that business in 2014 to move to Columbus and start Condado.

I'm confused. Isn't Condado just a re-branded Barrio? Why not open another Barrio?

My buddy’s a chemist and “beer research technician” for Fat Head’s. He invited me down for a tour of the new Middleburg Hts. facility. Jam packed for the first Friday. Two-hour waits for tables.

Apparently the co-founders parted ways after opening the original location in Tremont.

Must have been personal issues if he went off and started the exact same restaurant again ha.

Been 10 years since this thread was active, but hey.. whatever.

Went to Porco on 25th last night. Had (what I thought were) 3 drinks. When I stood up, I realized I wasn't going to be able to walk home because it was dark and I was WASTED. Moral of the story - What in God's name do they put in their drinks. I'm sitting here in a dimly lit office drinking pedialite.

Those drinks are wiiiiiiiiild sugary. Delicious but very bad for the ol’ next day brain.

Hopefully Yabo isn't in court today.  LOL

Porco's does NOT skimp on the alcohol haha.

Ah, Porco's was one of the best things about my four years living in Cleveland! One time my brother, who was visiting home from college, asked the Porco's server how much rum was in his drink. The answer was 4.5 oz. Painkiller Level 2 was always my go-to drink.

Hopefully Yabo isn't in court today.  LOL

Lol no thank god for casual Friday

Heard from a friend that Tony George (owner of Townhall, Crop, et al)showed up to the county last night and was a vocal opponent of the LGBT Anti-Discrimination bill that’s proposed. Can anyone verify this????

Wouldn't surprise me from personal experiences in Townhall, and why I won't visit them again.

Per my post from earlier this week... here are portions of the transcript from Tony George's (owner of Townhall, Crop, etc.) statement before the County re: the LGBT Anti-Discrimination legislation.

^ some rich a**hole trying to tell politicians that they should be beholden to him.  Eff this guy.

Tony George lost me years ago when he expressly said he has no emotional attachment to his restaurants. I'd much rather support small business owners who are emotionally invested. Anyway if certain places are going to shut down and move elsewhere then good for them. Have fun in Alabama.

CORRECTION**** He no longer owns Townhall, his son does.

Unless his son disavows it, I am done with his restaurants too.

Townhall's twitter said they'll be releasing a statement supporting LGBT rights. Hasn't happened as of 10 minutes ago though.

I just saw comment on twitter that says, let him leave the county.  The demand for restaurants will still exist. Someone not hateful can replace them.

^Lol I laughed at that too... he acts like he owns Sherwin Williams...

Are people going to stop eating if you go and open up restaurants in Richfield and North Ridgeville?

You can't move retail locations as easily.  These businesses get their customers because of the location.

The real irony of George's worry about his niece potentially getting assaulted in the bathroom is that there was an actual child rapist in the Town Hall/Harry Buffalo ownership group.

It's fine as long as they are not transgender.

I suppose so!

I know Mr. George has done some good things in the community. He's also been a Democrat, though he will support Republican candidates at times. This issue could be a case of an an old guy just being an out of touch old guy. Or perhaps there really is no moral objection and he seriously thinks the proposed policies will hurt his business interests.

This is absolutely unacceptable and people need to make sure these establishments hear from everyone, even if this Tony George doesn't actually own Town Hall, Crop or the rest of them any longer, he sure is acting as though he does. I have already called both Town Hall and Crop to let them know we will not step foot in any of their restaurants any longer and left my contact info. They need to put out a clear and strong rebuf disavowing the statements from this tony George person.

I hope you guys have the same passion for chastising, if not boycotting, the Browns, who are closely associated with Jim Brown, who has been abusing women for decades. Hell, he even tried to murder at least one. He's done a hell of a lot worse things than the ex-owner of Town Hall, yet Cleveland - and the complicit Browns organization and fanbase - still grovel at his feet.

Tony George, a convicted felon who has associated with organized crime figures for almost all of his life (I'd be happy to share news articles about this) can take himself and his homophobic restaurants right the hell out of Cuyahoga County.

Rumor: Shake Shack signed a lease at the corner of E. 6th and Euclid. Assuming nothing is happening to Potbelly’s I am assuming that this is the corner spot in the Garfield Building. No other details.

^solid intel there

I’m curious as to whether there will be the same fervor I’ve seen in other locations. Hour long lines down the street.
