The worry about deliveries for businesses etc. is why I feel that Cleveland could do a much better job utilizing it's alley system like Chicago. I wish it was a city wide system but I know Ohio City and Glenville has some.

Agreed that these individual street closings aren't the Big Win, but hopefully more and more successfully pedestrianized pockets like E4th, Market St, etc. will start to add interest in and support for these larger changes.

I guess I would prefer that the county own these lots.  But it sounds like they'll still just be parking lots.  And there are a LOT of parking lots in that area with a lot fewer daily parkers that should be ripe for redevelopment.
