But I would still argue for increasing the posted speed limited to 40 or 45, with intersections, since the geometry of the roadway is designed for higher speeds (unlike Opportunity Corridor which has sharper curves). And traffic should be slowed if we want to build such places where people want to be, 35mph is probably too high even for that (as on Chester). 45mph speed limits are not suitable for streets designed for pedestrians, traffic lights or not. If we're going to build residences along the Shoreway, and we raise the speed limit to 45mph, you're building a car-dependent city -- residents will always opt to get in their car to go anywhere rather than walk or try to ride a bike in traffic.

November 4, 20222 yr Saw from the Shoreway today that many of the windows on the upper levels are no longer shuttered. Not sure what it means but it’s a sight I don’t recall seeing in my lifetime. Couldn’t snap a pic because I was driving. I can try next week maybe unless someone beats me to it.

Any idea if the mcpc warehouse will create new jobs?

November 28, 20222 yr I would love to see this builder explore the use of glass block instead of brick in the foremost corner where the building overlooks the West Shoreway and Lake Erie. The continuity of a reflective glass surface might prove to be much more flattering and lively looking, and it is still able to disguise mechanicals (or whatever might be in place behind this portion of the exterior surface.)

I worked there at Paramount Stamping before they closed and got to know the complex(what's left). Drove there a few months ago and saw quite a bit of roof material on the ground that has been flying of the roofs. Surprised nothing is happening there yet with all the development around it. It will be interesting to see what happens there ; eventually...
