Posted January 27, 20196 yr With all of the conversions of former office buildings in downtown Cleveland, plus the new-construction projects, I thought it would fun to take stock of downtown's tallest residential buildings, ranked in order of height. I've also included the year the building was built/expanded, and the year and it became residential (or, in the case of partial conversions, mostly residential). So the list includes buildings that are 50 percent or more residential. In the case of Terminal Tower, the 13-story pedestal around the base of the tower is being converted (not the tower itself), thus it falls farther down the list. But it is included because half of the square footage of the property is being converted to residential. Erieview Tower is not included because only 12 of 40 stories (well less than half) are to be converted to residential. Buildings are ranked by their height in feet. Downtown Cleveland is defined here as bounded by the lake, river and the Inner Belt highway. RANK -- BUILDING NAME (PREVIOUS NAME) -- FLOORS -- HEIGHT IN FEET -- YEAR BUILT -- YEAR BECAME MOSTLY RESIDENTIAL 1. January 27, 20196 yr Author Yep. So is the Schofield. Most of these buildings are part "something" but is The 9 or the Schofield at least 50 percent apartments? If so, they should be on the list, IMHO. Or maybe EVERY building that has (or will have) at least some residential should be on this list? January 28, 20196 yr Author BTW, 21 of those 37 buildings became or are becoming residential since 2010, 27 of 37 since 2000, and 31 of 37 since 1995. Plus you didn't include the additional 90 apartment units in the 1010 Building, which is also part of The9, so yes mostly residential.

February 9, 20196 yr Author Edited the list....I forgot the Bradley Building in the Warehouse District. Came in at #31 on the list. CORRECTION! It's #32 because I also forgot The Creswell at Playhouse Square, now at #26.
