There are now some interesting coved pieces of the terracotta facade going in, I know it's not the biggest or most impactful building  going on downtown but I'm impressed with the quality that's going

Not sure why Cincinnati...

They needed a branch.

And the building looks like a castle.

Yeah I was wondering too. Seems an odd match to the "Let's make our new office in an old church" demo. The "High tech imaging" part is interesting too, is this a new venture or just a fancy way of saying "Facial imaging Scan ID Checks". I'll admit though, i was hoping some crazy person would buy it as a Mega Mansion/Lair, which is what I would do if I had the cash.

I’ve yet to live up to the beauty standards set by my Wii avatar.

It feels very sci-fi bad guy, this type of technology in this type of building.

And also... the "down to the micrometer" jokes write themselves

Bernstein Cos. begins next office-to-residential conversion in downtown Cincinnati

Construction is underway on an adaptive reuse project of a former vacant, aging office building in downtown Cincinnati, promising to bring more workforce housing to the urban core.

Washington, D.C.-based Bernstein Cos. filed a commencement notice April 28 for the residential conversion of the Hooper Building at 141 W. Fourth St. The city of Cincinnati Department of Building and Inspections May 1 approved issuance of a commercial alteration permit for the building’s mixed-use conversion.

Work crews are on-site now, according to Phil Aftuck, managing director of investments at Bernstein Cos. The project is expected to welcome its first tenants by next summer.

Interesting. They're adding a sixth floor to the main buildings and adding four floors to the small building on the south edge of the project:

That smaller building used to be 7 stories. It would have been nice if they brought back some of the original detail but I'm happy nonetheless.

Great news for this stretch of Race and beautiful restoration.

On a different topic, does anyone which hotel brand has the Gwynne building?

It’s going to be a boutique “house brand” last I heard not a national flag which I’m happy about. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s called The Gwynne or something. I’m surprised they haven’t come out yet with interior renders and the official name as full scale construction is well underway.

Updated images of Paycor (?) as it looks like the terracotta cladding is wrapping up. I'm liking this different color and material choice for downtown.

Might be the lighting today, but I'm wondering if the cladding of the color couldn't have been closer to the orange-y terracotta tones from the renderings?

terracotta cladding....for me, if you are talking about the darker brown siding that looks like pole barn metal siding. At the moment, it looks like a Rugged Rib, Regal Rib style siding. I'm guessing it meets the architect's specs, but it doesn't look appropriate for a CBD building. IMO. Agricultural Brutalism?

Don't worry we won't have to look it it after they re-install the skywalk around this thing.

The judge in the nuisance and foreclosure suit against the owner of the former Garfield Suites Hotel building in downtown Cincinnati has set a firm trial date for 2025.

Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas Chief Magistrate Anita Berding May 16 issued a case scheduling order setting the trial dates for Dec. 9 and Dec. 10. The dates cannot be extended except by a court order.

Newport Beach, Calif.-based Michael Collier, through Phoenix Acquisition LLC, owns the 16-story building, located along a pivotal corridor downtown.

Developer 'disappointed' after tax credit snub for $21M downtown Cincinnati project

The fate of a proposed $21 million mid-rise residential project in downtown Cincinnati is up in the air after the project’s snub in a recent tax credit award round.

Columbus-based National Church Residences earlier this year proposed a $20.7 million mid-rise residential building in downtown Cincinnati.

The seven-story, 46,121-square-foot building would bring 58 units of affordable senior housing to 114 W. Third St.

The developer submitted for 9% federal low-income housing tax credits, a highly competitive program administered through the Ohio Housing Finance Agency, or OHFA. The tax credits usually fund around 70% of a project’s development costs.

It gets tiring that the state seems to be so willing to support development in Columbus over Cincy. Dewine needs to go. He's useless.

Well a lot of Columbus people say Cincinnati is basically Kentucky so I guess they forget that we’re actually still in Ohio.

And that Ohio State is the only big University in the state.

Kentucky has moved so far north that it absorbed Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and all the prairie states. I moved here because of the Dixiecrats. There is a big museum downtown, and the people of Cincinnati want to put a carnival on its lawn. Shame on the whole country.
