Posted March 20, 200619 yr Did anyone else see this movie yet? If not, you need to. It was freakin awesome! Good acting, good storyline, & good special effects. I give it two thumbs up! There were a lot of political undertones ... hence the anti gay/lesbian mindset, and the interracial couple's lives being regulated by the government. With the ultimate end result being a total government control over our entire personal lives. Tell us, what did you think about it?
March 20, 200619 yr Like anything else (concerning movies), the original graphic novels (written in Maggy Thatcher era England) were better.
March 21, 200619 yr I liked the special effects and the concept of the film. I'm a big fan of Natalie Portman so I had to see it. I was hoping at some point he'd take his mask off though :[
March 22, 200619 yr I don like comics, nor comic-based movies...except that the X-Men movies was pretty good, mainly because of the excellent performances by the two leads...Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan..tho the second one was sort of heavy handed on the "gay rights" subtext. As for this one, Hugo Weaving would be a good reason to see the movie as I recall his great performance in Priscilla Queen of the Desert and Lord of the Rings (and yeah, the Matrix).... ...however I understand he is wearing a mask during this movie? Umm....not sure about that. I did sort of think Ed Norton (i think?) as the King Baldwin character in that Crusader movie was OK, as an example of an actor playing a roll without one seeing his face..., but that was a supporting character.
March 30, 200619 yr Natalie Portman = Crazy Delicious. I guess the movie is probably okay too. I wouldn't expect anything higher than a rating like that ... coming from you! ;)
March 30, 200619 yr AMAZING MOVIE.....definetely my favorite comic book movie to date...AMAZING!!!!!!.....AMAZING!!!!!!
March 31, 200619 yr I thought it was a pretty cool movie overall. It was interesting how they keep you ambivalent to the "hero" throughout the movie. It was also pretty political, and definitely a little preachy, which I found a bit tiresome. But overall, not bad for a comic book action flick.
