March 16, 20196 yr Author somebody on ssp had asked about the ge homes: the ge 'realty plot' homes are all on large equally spaced lots, all built at same time, with different styles, like with tudor mixed in or some with columns. there are unique homes as well as a few styles that somewhat repeat. these are the solid craftsman era styles 1900s-1920s. there are also craftsman era homes elsewhere around town, but they were smaller and on tighter lots just as in other cities. the ge versions are supersized. the ge realty plot history is quite interesting as it was built as a neighborhood for ge researchers, so many patents were developed in the neighborhood because of course researchers took things home. here is more about it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Electric_Realty_Plot

March 18, 20196 yr I saw Synecdoche, New York a few years back and I'm still not sure if I actually liked the movie or not, but I do think about it all the time. Not many movies stick with you the way that one does. As for the city, it's yet another gem upstate. I especially love the Stockade area. The whole capital district has a great, almost spooky vibe to it. “To an Ohio resident - wherever he lives - some other part of his state seems unreal.”
