Glad you found that Silver Lake skyline shot.  It's a great view.  Nice shots again!

Thanks.  I think it's a really underrated view.  It would be amazing at sunrise or sunset.  You would think some local photographers would shoot from those stairways but there's hardly any pics of that view.

Los Angeles photographers, in general, are notoriously bad for finding new angles of the skyline aside from the standards.

Nicely done! Great photos, thanks for sharing.

very nice -- those girls are sooo el lay ha.

i was actually hanging out there around the same time you were there.

i could not get to griffith observatory, the road was closed off, so i bailed on that.

we dont have much overlap in pics, i kind of did a modernist homes tour, but i am having troubles with photobucket, so i will post mine some other time. they aren't anywhere near this good anyway.

Posted this in other threat (part 1) but....again, amazing pictures. I'm really jealous considering I haven't seen half of that stuff in my 3 visits to LA.

@ZyrokaiThanks.  What parts of the city have you visited?

@mrnyc Thanks, I saw (via IG) you were up around Silverlake maybe a week after me.  I have to say we picked a perfect time to visit.  I knew the skies would be clear (no May Gray or June gloom) but I didn't realize how green the landscape would be and how nice the city would look in bloom.

Nice tour.  Looks like you really got around.  I hope you had a chance to try  RELAX and enjoy some restaurants while in LA

somebody did a geeky, but nice and comprehensive youtube of mulholland drive scenic overlooks -- i would like to do that some time:

The best view of the skyline, hands down, is from the south (imo). Driving north on the 110 gives a great view, but for photography purposes, the best vantage point I can think of for this angle would be atop one of the parking garages at USC. The skyline looks massive and dense, and you have the mountains providing an excellent backdrop.

Just now seeing this. Sorry!

I feel like I haven't visited nearly as much as I would like. My first trip there I was pretty much just downtown near the convention center as well as Universal City area. Also visited La Brea Tar Pits. My second time there I stayed at a friend's who lives in Hollywood. So I've seen a lot of Hollywood and West Hollywood as well. We also went downtown once, and we also went to Venice Beach.

I'm actually leaving for LA again tomorrow for 5 days. Staying in Hollywood again. Looking for suggestions and ideas on neighborhoods to explore, cool unique things to do that, and awesome food to eat! I love walking around cool neighborhoods, something I don't feel I have been able to do out there yet. Some planned ideas are:

Visiting Long Beach

Visiting Santa Barbara (another friend lives up there)

Little Tokyo

And that's about all the ideas I have right now, haha

Little Tokyo is awesome. And I would highly recommend Highland Park too to experience a different type of LA neighborhood. Very walkable and easily accessible by train.

I'd recommend little Osaka or Sawtelle Japantown if you want little Tokyo but a bit more youth oriented and hip.   Its also about a 15 min walk from the Expo line (oh I wish the stop was actaully on Sawtelle instead of Sepulveda).  Good to check out on the way to or from Santa Monica.

Mulholland Dr. continues as a DIRT ROAD west through the Santa Monica Mountains to Topanga Canyon.  It does not have green street signs but it actually says "Mulholland Drive" on brown state park signs.
