July 14, 20213 yr @KJPThe sentence "Once Ford's remaining buildings on the site (not including the still-active Engine Plant No. 2) " should reference plant one, not two. Plant one is closest to Brookpark Rd and is still actively used.

September 3, 20213 yr Bit of an update on this: https://www.cleveland.com/community/2021/09/brook-park-announces-forward-innovation-center-at-former-ford-site.html This is the website for interested business tenants: https://forwardinnovationcenter.com/ No word yet on any businesses who are already going to set up camp there (but understand from an earlier post in this thread that it's probably Amazon).

Developers buy former Ford plant in Walton Hills, plan transformation by Michelle Jarboe https://www.crainscleveland.com/real-estate/developers-buy-former-ford-plant-walton-hills-plan-transformation Used my Cuyahoga County Public Library Membership! Here's a summary: The 2.1 million sq ft facility in Walton Hills will be turned into a business park by a JV of Weston Inc, the DiGeronimo Cos., and Scannell Properties - mostly light manufacturing and industrial uses like warehousing and R&D. The same group bought the Brook Park facility. They plan to raze 3/4 of the Walton Hills facility or more, possibly keeping the southern portion if they can find an interested party to use it, otherwise nixing that too. It says the deal took longer than expected due to discovery work on any remediation needs. They'll be making use of the VAP (Voluntary Action Program) from the Ohio EPA that @E Rocc seems to be quite familiar with. They'll try to get some grant funding from the state of Ohio's brownfield remediation program. This requires the backing of a municipality or other local entity for profit-driven applicants - Walton Hills has voiced their support. The JV expects that the project's site could have room for 2-2.5 million sq ft of structures, but it could take up to a decade to get there. January 3, 20223 yr Thanks for the update! Great location for a business park - air, rail, ground access.
August 1, 20222 yr Early this summer the site received $10 million in additional funding from the state for site remediation. All but one building on the site have been demolished. The 1st of 12 buildings at the Forward Innovation Center Brook Park is rising. (7-30-22)
