Hey folks, we will be having our annual UrbanOhio Cincinnati Meet on Saturday, July 13th, beginning at Noon at Findlay Market (@ the Biergarten).  On our tour, we'll be walking around the Basin (OTR, Downtown, and Pendleton), getting drinks, and may even stop over a forumer's house or two.  If anyone knows of any other cool stuff we can do *cough* brewery tours* cough* that'd be great too!

Please reply to this thread if you can make it!  Otherwise, see you on the 13th!

Can we visit CovCath?

I'll be there!

Will attend.

I'll be there barring any catastrophes.

I am free till 3P. If we are meeting at Findlay we can visit either the historic Sohn/Clyffside or Jackson Brewery 2 blocks north. I can give access to the whole building including cellars. Will check with the owner about Northern Row as well.

I've never been in the Jackson Brewery.  I remember when it was abandoned 20~ years ago and there was a junkyard dog defending it.

I should be able to make this.

Will try to attend... but might be out of town.

If I’m in town, and depending on size of crowd, I can offer my roof top deck on E Clifton Ave (2 blocks from Findlay Market) for up to ~20 people.

I should be able to make it, it's in my calendar.

I haven't been inside Jackson since my 4th year architecture studio in 2001.  At the time it was full of ratty used furniture equipment, and most of the above-ground floors were pretty grungy poured concrete or the very sketchy wood framing on the attic level.  The vaults however, especially the lower vaults, were fantastic.  I'd love to see it again after so long.

I am planning to attend.

What's the latest on Northern Row? The beers I've sample at Bay Horse have been excellent and I'm really excited for their building to open. I hear the roof is amazing.

@ColDayMan, I'm a maybe. Hoping to go, but will have to see what stuff is like in the days before.

Still pretty sketchy on the upper floors. Roof is all new and massive amounts of repointing on the walls so at least nothing else is getting worse.

Hello folks, just a great update.  We will be touring the Sohn/Clyffside AND Jackson Brewery sites during this meet, courtesy of mcmicken.  Can't wait to see you all next Saturday!

I too should be a go for this event. the possibility of touring Clyffside and the Jackson Brewery sites put me over the top. I  let myself into the Jackson Brewery about 5 years ago, I hope its improved since then.

Looks like its going to be sunny and hot.

Do we need to bring flashlights?

Or boots?

Would not hurt. Clyffside is without power, though most of the building has decent daylight except for 1 or 2 spots. Jackson the same, though the cellars are lit.

No need for boots.

Sorry, I can't come now. Pop-up HR issue at work. Hope to see you all in Columbus next week.

Me + 1 or 2.

Have fun everyone!! If is wasn't for an ill timed lawn mower incident I'd be with you all exploring, sounds like a fun time. Hopefully we can do more adventure meet ups in the future. I poked my head into the Jackson brewery basements in the past (on an approved tour in the 90's) but never got to tour the upstairs because of the tenants (and dogs). Id love to see it's progress now that it has a real roof. Please post photos everybody!

The meet was a GREAT success!  Over 25 people showed up and thanks to @mcmicken and @Jimmy Skinner for allowing us to visit sites we normally wouldn't.  I know quite a few of you all took photos so please post them here when you can.  See you all next Saturday in Columbus!
