Whoa, lots of restaurant news today! I'm not surprised the 5th St. Wine and Deli space didn't stay empty for long. The Oregon District can definitely use more late night food options as well as breakfast. And getting a Chinese restaurant back into the CBD should be great too.

New Dayton taco restaurant brings its ‘A’ game

unknown-9*480xx4032-2268-0-378.jpg

A street-style taco restaurant that began in Dallas is now serving its fare along Brown Street. I’ve been badgered regularly for not yet visiting R Taco. “This place is great, what’s your hold up?,” I frequently hear. So I decided to swing on by and see what the fuss was about. Here’s what I found.

Atmosphere:

R Taco — a shortened version of the original Rusty Taco — sits in the former home of a Qdoba restaurant. We went on a nice day, so the front window was open bringing a warm breeze through the modern looking interior. The restaurant features a mix of high-top tables and traditional tables, as well as a small bar area and then a patio with picnic tables and several bar seats. The place has a relaxed cantina feel as the country and rock music helped set the mood.
