Excellent!

..and this means Cocos is ready to move to their Brown Street location, too.

Now, big question is to what moves into the old Sidebar location.  Also, rumor has it that someone has bought or is buying the old Boulevard Haus/Cafe Boulevard location....

Yeah, the owners of Cocos were reported saying that they wouldnt relocate to the new spot until they found a tenant for their old location...so I figure this deal was in the works for awhile if they had have already moved.

Good to hear that about Lillys and that midrange price point, which works for me!

^hm, never heard of this place til today. There's one opening by the University of Cincinnati, too.

Dibellas is great...they are literally in walking distance from me.  They are a deal.  I can take their half-sized sub and make two meals out of it.

I asked the sever and they are based out of Rochester NY.

I walked by the Cape Verde site on Monday it didnt look like much was going on inside.  I saw some Mr Coffee type coffemakers and that was about it.  They had signs up that they will be having an open stage.  But no construction activity inside.

There is a Carmela's in Springboro. It's OK but I wouldn't go out of my way for one. It's a bit less than full service. You order at a counter and servers bring food out to you. We went to it on a Sunday evening a couple of weeks ago and they were still offering a buffet at 7:30 PM that looked reeeeally tired. (they should have closed the buffet earlier and shouldn't have been offering it.) Sandwiches were OK, nothing special.

Locally, it will probably be a cheaper option than LaRosa's, which the menu resembles closely, or Milano's in Springboro.

Mexican restaurant signs lease for Brown Street location

The Perkins on E Main in Springfield is closing. The owner says he can't keep up with the cheap fast food he claims is becoming more popular.

Never been much of a Perkins fan but I have been to the owners other Perkins on N Limestone and it was the worst Perkins I have ever been to. Dirty, run down, slow & bleh food.

El Rancho Grande - meh. The food at all of these regional chain Mexican places - Acapulco, Rancho Grande, El Toro - all taste exactly the same as each other.

Hot Chicks has a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Hot-Chick-Inc/488171974570237

They've finally posted menus. It looks like another generic McNugget and frozen-fried food chicken place.  They serve what comes out of the Sysco truck. No mention of REAL fried chicken (whole pieces) which the immediate area lacks.

I wonder why Dayton has a Trader Joe's and now a Whole Foods and Akron doesn't.  I know they are similar sized cities.  Akron does have some great food options with The West Side Market, the Mustard Seed Market, an Earth Fair (which I consider a smaller version of a Whole Foods) and a new Giant Eagle Marketplace going in in Cuy Falls, but even more choice would be great.  Any thoughts?  Am I accurate in comparing Dayton to Akron?

Just an FYI, Dayton also has Earth Fair and numerous other natural food grocers (Health Foods Unlimited, Dorothy Lane Market, etc).  Dayton is a bit larger than Akron (Dayton CSA of 1.1 million versus Akron's of 700,000ish) but believe me, it's been a long time coming for a metro of over a million to finally get a Whole Foods.  I'm sure Akron will get one soon in the not-too-distant future.

Thanks for the response.  I know Akron has a bigger city pop but I didn't know the CSA of Dayton was so much bigger.  It sounds like Dayton has a lot of great food options too.  CDM, if you know the Montrose area of Akron where the Walmart and Sam's club are on Cleveland-Massilon Rd and Rt 18 (aka Market St), they are moving to a different new build location eventually, and those huge buildings will be empty.  Sounds like a perfect spot for a Whole Foods.

Yeah, I know Montrose VERY well.  That'd probably be the most likely place for them to put in a Whole Foods.
