The Mall at Fairfield Commons is bringing in an expanding burger joint to its food court.

 

Wayback Burgers will open in a 1,000-square-foot location in the mall's food court in late fall 2015. The simple burger joint started in 1991 as Jake's Hamburgers in Newark, Del.

New Dayton restaurant to employ 20

 

Corner Kitchen, a new restaurant coming to the Oregon District, will employ 20 people when it opens later this month. Owners Natalie Skilliter and Chef Jack Skilliter describe their restaurant as a “finer diner” – a mid-priced neighborhood restaurant offering seasonal American fare where taste and value are foundations of dining in a relaxed atmosphere.

 

Corner Kitchen will open this Tuesday, July 21 at 613 East Fifth St.

A much-loved downtown restaurant has begun serving dinner.

 

Carmen's Deli and Bistro, in the lobby of the Kettering Tower, is launching a new set of hours and a new menu for evenings intended to be an after-hours choice for downtown workers and the happy hour crowd as the work day comes to an end.

A new restaurant is in the works for Miller Lane.

 

Surjit Singh Mattu, who owns Indian restaurants Amar India and Jeet India, plans to open a new restaurant in Suite 106 at the retail development he owns at 7070 Miller Lane. Planned to be called India Restaurant, he says he has begun submitting for building permits for the restaurant, and hopes to be open by the end of the year.

The new Rapid Fired Pizza opens today near the Dayton Mall, but I got a chance to check it out early.

 

Rapid Fired is the latest restaurant concept in the region with pizza that cooks in less than three minutes. The setup is similar to Hot Head Burritos and Sumera — in that it features customizable, quick-serve food — and was launched by Ray Wiley, a co-founder in all three restaurants. Kelly Gray, of Equity Inc., also is a co-founder of Rapid Fired.

Pittsburgh restaurant chain moves forward in Beavercreek

Popular Pittsburgh restaurant chain Primanti Bros. is moving ahead with plans for its first announced Ohio location in Beavercreek.

 

Insite Real Estate Investment Properties LLC closed on the sale of 1.29 acres on North Fairfield Road for the new Primanti Bros. restaurant. That site is next to where an IHOP restaurant is also planned to open. A price on the land was not immediately available.

Greenville getting new restaurant

 

A new restaurant is coming to Darke County.

 

Family team Randy and Georgianne Lambright, their daughter Cassie Lambright and her fiance Chris Campbell are working together on The Merchant House a family-friendly restaurant at 406 S. Broadway in downtown Greenville, according to the new restaurant's Web site.

New restaurant, record store planned in Piqua

 

A new combination vinyl store and restaurant business is in the works in downtown Piqua.

 

Gary McKinney, who co-owns Jackson Center-based RV Xpress Inc., which hauls Airstream trailers and other RVs, is planning a $90,000 to $100,000 project to renovate the ground floor of the building at 417 N. Wayne St. in Piqua into a new record store and restaurant.

New Centerville restaurant to cost $1.1 million, sets May opening

 

Cheddar's Casual Café announced Tuesday that it plans to open it's first restaurant in the Dayton market in May.

 

The project construction will cost $1.1 million, according to the building permit.

A new downtown Dayton restaurant is preparing to open this month.

 

Owner Albert Smith and partner Lolita Frazier said Marilyn's Grill will unveil its menu next week on social media and will begin to promote the grand opening of the restaurant, Nov. 16. The "soft opening" will start with breakfast that day, and the restaurant will add lunch Nov. 18 and dinner Nov. 20.

Chipotle to open Sidney restaurant in the spring

 

A new Chipotle Mexican Grill is coming to Sidney, the first location in Shelby County.

 

A Chipotle (NYSE: CMG) corporate spokeswoman said the restaurant at 1975 W. Michigan St. is scheduled to open this spring, but said the company wouldn't share more details until closer to the store opening.

Submarine House plans Dayton-area expansion

Dayton-based Submarine House is looking at opening a new location in Huber Heights and is scouting for another restaurant space in the Kettering-Centerville area.

 

Franchise president Brody Danner said the company is seeking approval from the city's zoning board to open a new Huber Heights restaurant in the former Fifth Third branch at 5376 Taylorsville Road.

The downtown Dayton Boston Stoker will begin serving Lily's Bistro breakfast and lunch starting later this month, after the two struck a partnership.

As it prepares to celebrate a year in business, a downtown coffee shop is investing in adding a second location in northwest Dayton.

 

3rd Perk Coffeehouse & Wine Bar, which opened last spring at 46 W. Fifth St., is planning to set up a new satellite location in the new Dayton Metro Library Northwest Branch, which is nearing completion off Philadelphia Drive on the site of the former Fairview High School, owner Juanita Darden-Jones tells me.

New craft beer/cured meats bar poised to open in Dayton

“Crafted & Cured,” a craft beer bar that will also specialize in cured meats, is moving closer to opening at 531 Wayne Ave. in Dayton.

 

The bar’s owners posted an update and photos of cured meats yesterday on the Crafted & Cured Facebook page that reads, “(We are) honing our craft for the soft opening! Date to be released this week.”

 

The new bar is located in the Dietz Block building, built in 1886 at Wayne Avenue and Jones Street, adjacent to Wheat Penny restaurant. It previously housed Norman Miller & Sons Interiors.

Seattle-based MOD Pizza signed a 2,500-square-foot lease at the large mixed-use development at Wilmington Pike and Feedwire Road, according to a press release from Oberer Realty Services Ltd.

A locally-based pizza company continues its quick-paced growth and will open three new locations including its first in Cincinnati.

Fuyao creating new restaurant in Moraine

Fuyao Glass America Inc. is launching a business venture in Moraine by creating a new restaurant.

 

The 8,000-square-foot restaurant is being built at the southwest corner of the intersection of Hoyer Place and Encrete Lane, just outside the visitor entrance to the Fuyao plant. The restaurant will be open to the public, said John Gauthier, president of Fuyao. It will be owned by Fuyao and managed by a local restaurateur, but details and a name have not been finalized.
