There's nothing urban about these pics, but I figured some of you would enjoy seeing the suburb sprawl while I was hiking. Scottsdale is a upscale city north of Phoenix surrounded by mountains. I've been spending my "spring breaks" out there the past several years. It helps to have a relative that lives there.

 

Play Ball! The Cubs play in Mesa, about 30 minutes from Scottsdale.

Scottsdale has a lot great places to hike, this is Camelback Mountain in the Paradise Vallley hood. The view is well worth the burning in my legs.

Never been to AZ.  It doesnt look bad though.  When I become an old fart, I'll finally have the opportunity to travel the US.

Nice pictures, moonloop.  While the Phoenix area is sprawly and all that, I find the desert geography very interesting, and it's not such a bad place to visit.
