Posted September 6, 20195 yr Greetings, I was just curious to see if any Cincinnati Steps aficionados are aware of the city steps on the West Side leading from Baltimore Ave. directly into Baltimore Pike cemetery. The top of the staircase is located directly across from the cemetery office and the bottom is located on Baltimore Ave, but is hard to see as it is slightly covered by a bit of overgrowth. The stairs are surprisingly well maintained with the exception to the entrance on Baltimore Ave. There are no signs indicating the stairs are closed.

September 7, 20195 yr Author The pictures above indicate where the stairs come out on Baltimore Ave. When I first saw them I thought they may be part of the cemetery, but then I noticed a "Private Property, No Trespassing" sign at the top of the stairs as you enter the cemetery., so assumed they must be city stairs. The top of the staircase in the cemetery is very conspicuous and well-maintained. It appears someone looks after them because about three quarters of the way down you can tell a large tree fell and was blocking the staircase. It appears someone removed it because the railing is bent and portions of the sawed tree lie on each side of the staircase. I can see why the City and cemetery management would want to keep it on the down low, as it allows unsupervised public access to the cemetery. Trespassers would be a nightmare. Anyway I thought it was a cool little find and wanted to share it with anyone who is interested. Kind of makes you wonder what else is out there. Edited September 7, 20195 yr by Alfred Hawthorne
