Posted November 8, 20195 yr Hi All - I'm thinking about having an online chess tournament for UO members. We could do it bi-monthly or so. Thoughts?
November 9, 20195 yr I could be in for this at least some of the time. Scheduled gaming is hard with three kids under 5 though. ?
November 10, 20204 yr Author Touching base on this long-since-expired idea. Chess.com allows you to create a free user name. If we could get at least 8 people who want to sign up, I'd be willing to schedule matches and keep track of wins / losses and league formatting? I think it might be something to look forward to and break the inevitable monotony to come as cold weather makes social distancing a little bit tougher. How about this? I'll give everyone until next Wednesday to respond, and I'll bump this thread at least once a day, just to make sure as many people as possible get eyes on it. Thanks!
November 10, 20204 yr Sure - I'm pretty terrible so maybe I'll have to have my wife sub in lol Very Stable Genius
November 18, 20204 yr Author One final bump to anyone in addition to @DarkandStormy who would like to join
November 18, 20204 yr Quite a bump! As I said last year (apparently, and long since forgotten), I'd like to play but my availability is still going to be spotty. Three kids under 5 have become three kids under 6, but that's still a lot to handle (especially because it means the youngest is a lot more active at 16 months than he was at 4 months). Does chess.com support asynchronous play?
November 18, 20204 yr 10 years ago yes, but i have not played since kids came along, but would love to get back into it.
