Already looks much better without those weird light posts!

Looks nice. Wasn't expecting that.

here are a couple of renderings on what the finished plaza should look like

^ that is utterly fantastic. it’s a fully urban look, yet unique to cleveland. and needless to say, what a massive improvement on a very visible site. it’s no small thing either - a thoughtful and classy front door area like that will do its part to help leave residents and visitors alike with good vibes of downtown and public square.

Space made better by the setback of the SW tower.

The glassy SW and the new 55 with its pedestrian friendly plaza will juxtapose with one another very nicely.

the restaurant looks out of place in those renderings

Nice!  See the open space around each tree. Allows oxygen to permeate into the soil for healthy root development.   Contrast to whatever was going on with the failed Public Square tree plantings that @Ethanhas diligently been tracking.

Maybe in 30 years those trees will look like the renderings.

If they live that long.  Perhaps TC is onto something with the fake trees ;  (

The City of Cleveland is woefully inept at the most basic, yet important task. The planting of a tree in the “Forest” city.

The city “arborist” must be advising on this project. And TC lol.

How much does the cost go up to plant more mature, sturdier trees? As opposed to planting crappy saplings, then digging them up and cementing over them every three years?

A few hundred bucks. To get one like the one in the rendering, a couple thousand.

The new windows and siding makes such a big difference! Looking great.

I hope they do something about the exterior of the building. Its not an attractive building for an apartment.

I was just on Apartments.com.  It appears that apartments are currently available on the lower floors (less than 7).  It appears that the apartments on the higher floors (14th floor) will be available on June 1, 2023.  I didn't know that they were actively leasing.

They're using Historic Tax Credits, exterior is going to have to stay as is.

Some residents have even already moved in on the lower couple floors!

2 things:

I wish they used a darker brick color to match the building and I think it would hold up better VS our weather, just my taste.

I think K&D definitely learned from their terminal Tower conversion because these look so much better, I love these!

The "Fahrenheit" signage feels overscaled for the design of the restaurant exterior.  I do wish this part of the buildings renovation was more aesthetically pleasing.

I'm not a huge fan of the south facade either, but it's not quite finished. The landscaping in front may balance things out--add depth, texture, and color.

What a beautiful renovation. I worked in that building in the early 2000s.

Was hoping for some fun, mid century colors instead of "house flipper" grey, but hey, just very glad to see the place renovated.

Not sure that it is mid-century but the elevator interiors are the same as they were in early 2000s

The price point for the apartments at 55PS are very competitive in comparison to other markets.  If I still lived here, I'd definitely consider locating there.

No matter how nice they are, I would always flash back to many meetings with my divorce attorney in that building.   No bueno....😝

Elevators are definitely late 80's, not mid century. I'm surprised they left them as is, they look really dated in a bad way. The rest looks good to me.

know before you go … lol.

I was playing around with ideas to make Fahreheit's signage to be scaled better onto the south facade.  I thought to add some black banding around the window heights to mimic the 55 Public Square facade and add some chrome square mullion/fenestrations similar to the rhythm of the building. These would be placed at the same angle as the Fahrenheit logo. In between those the panels would be painted a soft grey to give the illusion of 55 Public Square casting a shadow onto the facade.   The eastern facade panels above the entry would be painted a red color to separate it and give the restaurant it's own identity.   enjoy! Thanks Urbanetics_ for the photos. I hope you don't mind that I used as my base

Looks awesome! Such a welcome addition/renovation.

That place is going to do amazingly well and like John Qi’s back in the day, I can see it making a huge killing on Browns home games.

^My nephew has lived there for over 2 months and loves it.  Doesn't miss the drive from his parents house in Hudson to his downtown job.

Liking the view in the last pic!

It looks like K&D has added a bit of public art / signage to the front of the building.

Yes!  Those rectangular boxes remind me of the street scaping throughout Chicago. I’ve been there dozens of times but the street-level attention to detail really struck me this time. That and how the street lights were all working!

The art/signage looks suspiciously like the form of that placemaking art by the Ukrainian group that @KJPhas highlighted, including a proposed installation on the Mall.  Any idea if it’s made by them?

Yes, it's them.

Should look pretty cool lit at night. Assuming there is a light inside, which I’m guessing there is.
