December 4, 20195 yr So good to hear! This is a very unique building. Spent a lot of time in it growing up and got to work on this proposal VERY loosely early on in concept. This is the Masonic Lodge and I’m not sure if the Masons are still planning to use the event space for their meetings or if they would relocate. I’ll dig up some photos I have of the very very cool meeting hall.
May 13, 20223 yr Author City of Wilmington launches downtown revitalization program A local city is implementing a new economic development initiative to advance downtown redevelopment opportunities. The city of Wilmington recently announced the Downtown Revitalization Investment Vibrancy Effort, or DRIVE. The mission of this program is to enhance and help accelerate Wilmington’s downtown revitalization, encourage creative adaptive re-use and mixed-use development, and reduce the financial barriers to investing in the community’s urban core. The initiative is designed to facilitate new private sector investment, generating job creation and downtown housing opportunities. The initial round of funding for the program will be provided by the city of Wilmington, Clinton County Board of Commissioners and the Community Improvement Corporation of Wilmington. December 16, 2024Dec 16 Author Downtown Wilmington charts $5 million redevelopment of historic building An iconic historic structure in the region will receive a $5 million facelift. The project will revive the property and provide work for local contractors and suppliers. The Masonic Lodge Building at 28 W. Main St. in Wilmington will be redeveloped into a mixed-use space. Upon completion, the white box redevelopment will offer 21,500 square feet of Class A office, event, co-working and restaurant/service space. The project is part of the DRIVE downtown investment collaborative, comprised of the city of Wilmington, the Clinton County Commissioners, and the CIC of Wilmington, as well as other local partners including Wilmington College.
