March 29, 200619 yr I was going to post that in the Peak Oil thread. Oh well. "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
March 29, 200619 yr ^----- Talk about Peak Oil, and people will think you are a conspiracy theorist or a nut. But talk about gas prices and you will get their attention.
March 30, 200619 yr Look at the recent posts on the thread for "What Other States Are Doing With Rail & Transit...and you'll see what higher gasoline prices are doing for ridership.
March 30, 200619 yr I wish gas would go up to $4 a gallon! ;) Seriously though, these Cincinnati idiots would be begging for a new public transportation system! It is horrible here. Anytime of the day, any day of the week ... I75 is a nightmare! Last Saturday the wifey and I were driving to Tri-County and there was a traffic jam, a complete stop traffic jam ... and what was the reason? Nothing! I repeat nothing! There were just too many vehicles on the road at the same time. Disgusting!
March 30, 200619 yr ^----- Talk about Peak Oil, and people will think you are a conspiracy theorist or a nut. But talk about gas prices and you will get their attention. That may be true, but we Americans (aka oil addicts) will come up with some bizarre rationales (including our own conspiracy theories) for why gas prices are high. We do that because we want things to go back to the way they were, with oil selling at $15 a barrel and gas for less than a $1 per gallon. But understanding the fundamentals of supply and demand cuts through the noise of all the other theories, and that takes us right back to peak oil. All Americans need an intervention when it comes an addiction, and this one is no different. Call this the start of the intervening years....
