Posted December 13, 20195 yr The Arena Football League folded earlier this year, But apparently the Indoor Football League is something that still exists and might be coming to Columbus in 2021. https://abc6onyourside.com/news/local/indoor-football-league-coming-to-columbus-in-2021 https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2019/12/12/steve-germain-to-bring-new-arena-football-team.html The new team - whose name will be announced in February - would be part of the Indoor Football League and would play in Nationwide Arena starting in March 2021. The team would be coached by former Ohio State and NFL wide receiver Bobby Olive. The team owners - Columbus car dealership group owner Steve Germain and his family - say they are determined to avoid the financial struggles faced by the now-defunct Arena Football League. The Arena Football League folded this fall, bringing the Columbus Destroyers’ second go-round to an end after just one season. The Columbus Destroyers previously played in Nationwide Arena from 2004 to 2008. As part of the transaction, the Germain family has also acquired exclusive rights to the business operations of the entire league, which started in 2008. The Germain family will control the national and international television broadcast rights, IFL digital streaming, licensing, sponsorship and advertising assets associated with the league from a new IFL office located in Columbus. It has chosen Columbus-based The Team Management LLC to manage the teams and league business. The Germain family also acquired the ownership of an IFL team near Dallas, Texas, the Frisco Fighters. With the addition of the Texas team, the IFL will have 13 teams for the 2020 season, including teams in Arizona, North Dakota, Iowa, New Mexico, Wisconsin, California, Illinois, South Dakota and Washington. The vision is to eventually get to 16 teams, according to IFL Commissioner Todd Tryon. Additional IFL info at https://www.goifl.com/ and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indoor_Football_League

July 30, 20204 yr Author The arena football team that will (maybe) start play in 2022 has a name. July 30, 20204 yr If they paid more than $40 for that hideous racoon/hyena logo then they totally got ripped off. And note to sports owners of America, here you have more solid proof that all good team names have already been taken.
