Can we get that Goddard Law?! Honestly I don't think that punishment is even severe enough for this guy. He didn't just kill this poor animal, he tortured it.

Would an eye for an eye be too extreme in this case?

^How did you get that picture to post?

I know how to post a pic as stated in that thread.  I just thought you had found an easier method.  I didn't think you would've went through the trouble to post a picture which is right there in the link...... just as KJP did not copy, save, create a link for and re-post the picture in the story he posted right above yours.

Many of us are strongly disgusted by animal violence. I thought he deserved to have his picture plastered all over the place.

KJP also did not post any of the story, just the headline and the link. Sometimes he does include part of the article. Not really a big deal.

Also it wasn't much trouble, literally took 5 seconds of my time. Less than it took to write this post.

Edit: just re-read your post. I didn't have to save and create a link for the image. All I had to do was copy the link and paste it onto this site. I didn't have to upload the image to photobucket and host it myself.

Whats your point anyways?

I was wondering if there was an easier method than uploading the image to photobucket and hosting it myself.  That's the way I have always done it.  It seemed like a lot of trouble if that was the case.  What link did you copy for the picture?

If you right click any picture on the internet(besides protected pictures), you get the option to "Copy Image URL"

I can even do it with your picture

Word.  I learned something new today.  I am relatively tech naïve.  I just learned last week that I don't have to type "www" when entering a web address.

Test that before using it though as some sites object to hotlinking and insert an "alternate" picture.

I also had fun once when a Ratbirds fan idiot thought I was someone he was feuding with and hotlinked one of my pics into a discussion, I uploaded an embarrassing pic of him under that file name.

Just search for photos on Twitter. Most photos you need have already been uploaded for you. Additional bonus is that most news organizations now post many of their photos directly to their feeds, so they're fair game, but I'd still recommend supplying a source link to the tweet at least.

They caught the POS, waiting on DNA tests to confirm if he was the involved in the Lakewood incident as well. Apparently the Edgewater HOA wasn't contacted soon enough by CPD and the high resolution camera footage they installed had been overwritten by the time they learned of the incident via the media. That seems like a pretty major screw up by CPD.

Let's hope they committed no procedural errors that could cost us a conviction.

I'm wondering, if he is implicated and convicted in the Lakewood case, would that add on to his sentence?

Assuming this is Michaela Diemer,  I originally thought this case might be connected to Hillary Sharma as both women are close to the same age, grew up in the same general area, and look similar.  I've heard they had friends in common as well (I had several in common with Hillary, some very close).

However, this could blow up huge if the following rumors are true:

-Her car was spotted Labor Day weekend and followed to a gas station.  The police reviewed surveilance and found nothing.  It was her dad, later on, who figured out the tapes were an hour off and after adjusting, there was the car, and the suspect.  How did something so obvious get missed?

-She was only killed during the last few days.

-The suspect was interviewed by the police, but only by phone.

With the Imperial and Seymour Avenue cases, one would think protocol changed.

This is across the street from Lakewood. Not ruled a homicide but police are investigating....

It absolutely floors me that someone who pleads guilty to gross sexual imposition on a ten year old in 2008, can be free and walking the streets in 2014.

Not anymore. And maybe his past is the reason why....

according to the link: * Teens shooting at deer on E. 77th St. & Finney; reported by scanner. (police scanner presumably).

(for context, it's a dead-end street and 500 feet from Mill Creek, so I'm not very surprised there's a deer there).

Cleveland City Council approves funding for police body cameras

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Cleveland City Council passed legislation Monday authorizing the Police Department to spend $1.6 million to equip hundreds of patrol officers with body cameras as early as the first quarter of 2015.

Some council members have been calling for the cameras for years, arguing that the footage would aid criminal investigations and clear up controversy surrounding police shootings and accusations of misconduct. Council authorized the city a year ago to spend as much as $2.4 million on a combination of body and dashboard-mounted cameras.

Bicyclist robbed, stabbed in downtown Cleveland

A 24-year-old man was walking his bike home when an unidentified male approached. After a brief conversation, the male pulled out a knife and stabbed the cyclist in the stomach, police said.

The attacker fled after taking the victim's wallet, cellphone and bicycle. Officers recovered the bike outside the men's homeless shelter at 2100 Lakeside Avenue, police said.

330am.

If you're going to be out and about at that time down there, a carry permit is a good idea.

That is ridiculous!  I was out at 3:30am during the gay game and when I go out Im out at that hour and I don't need a permit.

Although, this is horrible, I think there is more to this an a random stabbing.

Sounds random to me. Although he might of did something stupid like tried to play the hero to actually get stabbed. It's not acceptable but it does sound random.

I made the mistake of reading the comments. Somebody kept trying to bring up the doctors wife murdered outside of her lawyers office on Sunday afternoon. At least there were people telling him to shut up that wasn't random violence.

That hasn't been proven, actually.  It was probably not random violence.

Keep in mind that public reaction and reality don't always link up.  Corey Booker and Hillary Sharma were very high profile missing persons cases.  Booker probably had a drunken accident, and Hillary was a suicide.  Michaela Diemer barely got noticed until her car turned up a month later, she was kidnapped, raped, and murdered.

Curious, what makes you say it wasn't random violence?

edit - sorry I thought you were referring to the recent stabbing.

^^I think you mean Cory Barron, not Cory Booker.  Though I'm laughing at the image of Senator Booker at a county music concert in Cleveland.

LOL true.  Too much going on today.

Sorry, you're right the doctor's wife was  "highly likely to be" not random, but soon to be an episode of Law and Order though...

If there is any silver lining to this whole thing, it is the fact that it didn't make the front page of cleveland.com and was not a "featured" story.  It got surprisingly little play by the editors considering how potentially hot it could have been. (I hope there are no PD editors reading this)

That's because it was not in Cleveland Heights....

How does this even happen?  I can't help but feel some sort of rage with stories like this...

Gunman robs three Cleveland children of snacks, ice cream

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Three boys are afraid to go outside after they were robbed of a bag of snacks at gunpoint early Thursday evening.

The boys - an 11-year-old, his 10-year-old brother and their 11-year-old cousin - walked down Otis Court at East 73rd Street about 5:10 p.m. Thursday after a quick trip to a nearby corner store for potato chips, juice and ice cream.

A group of teenagers were outside a home on Otis Court talking as the three children walked home. One of the teens, who had a red T-shirt wrapped around his face, walked up to the boys and pulled a pistol from his waistband.

It's not popular to say it, but as long as the community tolerates crap like this, it will continue.  I keep going back to the Damon Wells incident, but that was symptomatic and so is this.

Yeah I read about this too. The problem is, stuff like this has always happened - teens picking on kids littler than they are, but they didn't used to have GUNS to do it with.

^Typically, they don't use guns to snatch candy bags now either.  This is an extreme case.  Wouldn't surprise me one bit if it was not a real gun.

True.  But our parents would have kicked our behinds.

^I'd bet the farm that if you did a survey of violent offenders in prison, you would find that the majority of their parents "kicked their behinds" when they were kids.  http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2771618/.  I never quite understood this implication that incidents like this happen because the kids were not hit enough.  I would presume it is quite the opposite.

Depends on the meaning of the word "parent" (does mom's boyfriend count?) and the reasons.  I'm talking about formal punishment for a misdeed.

Let me rephrase:  our parents would have punished us strongly for such conduct, is that typically the case when something like this takes place?

^I don't really understand how you're connecting the dots here.  I don't know your exact age, but I'm fairly certain violent crime is significantly lower now than when you were in your early 20s.  If there have been any societal changes in parental punishment habits since you were a kid, the superficial evidence is that they are more effective now, not less. Some economists have even theorized (with evidence) that a reduction in spanking has helped fuel the reduction in violent crime enjoyed by nearly every western country since the 1990s.  http://www.economist.com/blogs/charlemagne/2013/07/spanking-and-crime-rates

^^Depends on what you mean by "our parents would have punished us strongly"
