When you say "via dropbox," is this an electronic dropbox as in the cloud, or an actual locked box in front of city hall?

In this case it's an actual physical lockbox at both the front and rear entrances of City Hall that you can use any time.  And the City Hall is open to the public on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to conduct a limited amount of business in person.

But also I know both the City and County are adding more online options to their services over the last several years.  For example if you a lawyer, you can submit a lot of your legal documents online to the courts now.

It and others were mentioned in this article.....

The upshot is that within a year, Amazon may be operating at 10801 Madison Ave., the nearly 170,000- square-foot building that Weston Inc. of Warrensville Heights completed last year in Cleveland; at what's now a 130,000-square-foot building in Bedford Heights planned by Indianapolis-based Scannell Properties at 24700 Miles Road; and even the 400,000-square-foot building finished last year by Chicago-based Westminster Capital at 43000 Victory Parkway in Glenwillow Village.

It’s an entertainment district ??‍♂️

They have a location at Cedar Center that is extremely popular - like lines regularly out the door and endless concerns from neighbors about the amount of people parking on the surrounding streets (pre-covid, at least). For a time they had to meter people coming in over fire occupancy concerns. I'm sure they'll do well here.

There has been a restaurant like this down the street from me in Koreatown in LA for a few years.  Lines out the door.

I think this will do well in downtown Cleveland.  Just make sure to hose off when you're done---it's messy.

Lack of city hall tech risks making construction sector sick

....But the same cannot be said for nearly all local municipal governments. Their meetings of city councils, planning commissions, boards of zoning appeals (BZA) and other scheduled public gatherings remain canceled for the foreseeable future. That has stalled proposed real estate developments big and small and their resultant job creation, several developers said.

While city officials in many communities say the meeting cancellations are necessary to comply with Sunshine Laws, technology is making that contention questionable.

I'm assuming that building inspections in the city of Cleveland are still continuing?  They are normally so far behind that if they are not, they may never recover!

Yes, as the one construction manager noted -- however off the record.

I see the mayor of Miami pictured. He was diagnosed with COVID19 and released from quarantine this past week.

Despite our city, county and finally state lockdowns, construction projects have been full speed ahead.

I guess they're considered "essential."

There's a lot less of us working downtown to scurry and get pictures of construction and whatnot, appreciate people that are still getting photos and posting updates!

Hope everyone's holding up well!

Looking forward to the UO meetup when all's said and done...

Or mechanicals/HVAC

Per the Northeast Ohio Newspaper Guild Local 1:

Michelle Jarboe is NO LONGER ALLOWED TO REPORT on real estate development projects in CUYAHOGA COUNTY...

WT#...

FIRST they eliminate all but 14 UNION Plain Dealer reporters

THEN most of them is only allow to report on the five counties outside CUYAHOGA COUNTY...

Granted non-union Cleveland.com still have plenty of reporters to fill in for these LONG TERM EXPERT REPORTERS...

BUT AT WHAT PRICE to the growth and opportunity of Greater Cleveland going forward?

VERY SAD...

Coronavirus crisis casualties in Cleveland real estate

While the temporary scaling back of spending for the Sherwin-Williams' (SHW) new headquarters+research (HQ+R&D) project is probably the most notable impact from the coronavirus crisis, it isn't the only one in Greater Cleveland.

It's important to note that no real estate development project, so far, has completely succumbed to the crisis. But several have been delayed or modified to deal with our suddenly changed economic reality.

While not the type of news anyone likes to hear, I’m glad construction’s still progressing along on current projects. We could be left with half-completed shells of buildings, but at least we will still come out of this with new developments and new residents.

The Lumen, May Co, Euclid Grand, Avenue townhomes, 12th + Ave...and let alone the gazillion of projects outside of downtown.

We will definitely see some major economic effects of this pandemic, but I’m optimistic that Cleveland’s future will be just as bright as ever once we get through this.

We’re resilient, we’re proud of our city and we’re going to see great things in the future, overcoming this together. I just know it.

Probably will depends how long this goes on.  My company like a lot of others basically is in hibernation mode just preserving cash.  Short term we fine but it goes long, idk how many companies can survive this.

This is going to hurt a lot of companies -- everyone hoarding cash, delaying payments helps you but hurts the recipient's cash situation.  The subs at the bottom of the construction food chain will get hit hardest.

Please write to your Governor, your Representatives, your Senators...

We need immediate approvals for antibody testing so we can maintain critical development projects, their funding and the remainder of our economy.

Reopening portions of the economy is dependent upon knowing who's protected, who is still at risk of infection and the potential morbidity and mortality for those who are still at risk.

K&D still going with the mid-90’s kitchen selections. They’re already dated.

I don't mind this kitchen so much actually. Maybe we are trending away from WHITE!

But that table does sort of remind me of Staples or Office Max.

My bar was very low, but I'm actually surprised with K&D on this. I still think Terminal Tower deserved better though. That kitchen is the same kitchen some of the units in Stonebridge have.

They did a good job at the Halle with higher quality finishes and appliances. This looks like they’ve taken a step back towards the (very) standard finishes in their older conversions like 668 and Hanna.

My hovercraft is full of eels

They did a really nice job with Halle... I guess the idea was perhaps to go more traditional here ? Not sure. I much prefer the lighter colors and finishes they used at Halle.

EDIT:

@roman totale XVII our brains must’ve synced there and posted at the same time

Up to the 12th floor -- basically the enlarged base that extends from Public Square over to Prospect. The tower itself remains as offices.

Something called Beyond Juice is going into the old J Gumbo space. There is a Beyond Juicery+Eatery based out of Michigan with a bunch of locations, could be them.

Good find, too bad we missed it. I’m very curious about K&D’s plans for The Greenbrier Suite.

if you’ve never been inside it is surreal.  I had a tour a few years ago and got to see it one more time after K&D bought it. Somewhere on here I made a photo thread of my first tour.  I haven’t heard anything from my contacts at K&D these days but I think they were just planning to keep it as a private event space.  If I hear anything new I’ll let you know.

I've also seen a location is coming to Summit County in the Montrose area based on a site plan posted to the Architectural review board there. I pegged it as being the Michigan chain expanding their presence to Northeast Ohio. Looks like they're planting a few flags to start.

Beyond Juice is a great healhty chain.

Cleveland city meetings to resume, construction industry cheers

After a 40- to 90-day hiatus forced by the COVID-19 crisis, Cleveland's City Council and City Planning Commission meetings are due to restart. The first meetings are likely to be held in May.

That's good news for Greater Cleveland's real estate and construction industry whose projects and thousands of local jobs often depend on city reviews and the approval of incentives before they can proceed.

Although Cleveland's City Planning Commission hasn't announced anything formally, City Council members and local offices of architectural firms said they were aware of the city's plans to restart the planning meetings virtually. City Council will also begin meeting live virtually via Zoom as well as by other public media.

Seeds & Sprouts VI - Early intel on real estate projects

Schofield Building to get new & renewed ground-floor uses

According to a source close to the situation, Citizens Bank will open a branch location on the ground-floor of the historic Schofield Building. Despite the high-profile location at the southwest corner of East 9th Street and Euclid Avenue, also dubbed "Main and Main," the corner retail space has remained largely vacant ever since the renovated 1902-built structure reopened in 2016.

The new Citizens Bank branch will reportedly not affect the next-closest Citizens Bank branch, several blocks away at Superior Avenue and East 12th Street. That branch is on the ground floor of Citizens Bank's regional headquarters building. Citizens Bank's main headquarters is in Providence, RI.

I thought DCA celebrated reaching the 20K residential mark and was working on 30K by 2030. Either way, good to see something go in.
