We are having an UrbanOhio Happy Hour Meet Up this Saturday, May 17 at Goldhorn Brewery, 1361 E 55th St, Cleveland, OH 44103 (just south of St Clair Ave). I'm excited that a few people I've never met are planning to attend. We will have guests from all parts of the state. Hope you can join us! Please give a thumbs up or reply in the original thread if you'll be able to make it. When is the last time I-71 turned a profit?
May 14May 14 Author Cleveland-area TOD projects reach high in 2024By Ken Prendergast / May 14, 2025An annual report by the Cuyahoga County Planning Commission released this week showed that Transit Oriented Development in the county reached an all-time high in 2024. But 92 percent of countywide TOD activity is occurring in the city of Cleveland. And only four of 26 communities along high-frequency transit routes and walksheds, called TOD corridors, had a TOD project in the past six years indicating a lack of suburban activity.MORE:https://neo-trans.blog/2025/05/14/cleveland-area-tod-projects-reach-high-in-2024/ "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck

Huron will be eastbound, and Prospect westbound...Mild improvement.Nevermind, I just realized this is looking West. The problem with Playhouse Square in general is the clown-show cut-through of the E 14th Innerbelt exit - to left on Euclid - to North on E 13th.The freeway redesign missed a golden chance to route all Innerbelt exits and entrances to E 18th. June 5Jun 5 Who wants to lead the charge to bring back the Grand Prix? But this time, a road course through downtown. An East 9th, to Lakeside, to West 9th, to Huron, to Ontario, to Carnegie, back to East 9th loop. Would make for some dramatic TV footage.
June 5Jun 5 dang I completely forgot about that. wow you just unlocked a flood of childhood memories.
June 5Jun 5 A road course would be more interesting than laps on the Burke runways/taxiways.I remember watching it on TV several years ago when about half of the cars crashed on the first turn at the start of the race. That might have been the last one at Burke.

I went to four of them. The thing about BKL was you could see the whole course from the stands. But I always thought about placing the start/finish/pit area at the Mall on Lakeside and then head west down Lakeside and use the Memorial Bridge and the West Shoreway, past the Westinghouse curve to Upper Edgewater and then back. I could see fans all over Edgewater Park that week.
