Cleveland's gross metropolitan product is greater than...

Here's a pointless little list I came across.  It's the gross metropolitan product of Ohio's metros (numbers a few years old) compared to the output of various world countries.

Ranked by gross metropolitan product, the Ohio metro and world country its output is greater than:

Cleveland-Lorain-Elyria - greater than the Czech Republic

Columbus - Algeria

Cincinnati* -  Algeria

Dayton-Springfield - Slovakia

Akron - Syria

Toledo - Ecuador

Youngstown-Warren - Turkmenistan

Canton-Massillon - Kenya

Hamilton-Middletown* - Latvia

Huntington-Ashland - Bolivia

Mansfield - Afghanistan

Lima - Paraguay

Parkersburg-Marietta - Malta

Wheeling - Cambodia

Stubenville-Weirton - Papua New Guinea

*These are old metro definitions, so Butler County (Hamilton-Middletown) is separate from Cincinnati, leaving Cincinnati nearly tied with Columbus and therefore without a unique country to surpass! *Edit*: Found the whole list with the countries included.  Cincinnati with Butler County included would rank just above New Zealand.

I have no idea of the source on the international numbers, and a quick Google search suggests the GDP of the Czech Republic is significantly greater than the gross metropolitan product of Cleveland.  So take the list for what it's worth, which is probably nothing.

Still, it's a great point of pride, isn't it?
