Posted June 26, 20204 yr Hello everyone, the new 4.5 update from Invision is nearing final beta testing and will be final soon. We will be updating once that happens. Below is a link to all the 4.5 updates. https://invisioncommunity.com/news/product-updates/
August 1, 20204 yr Author We're now using software version 4.5. Let us know of any issues you may have.

August 1, 20204 yr For a point release it seems like they've completely revamped the look of the forum, and added a significant number of new features. So far, so good- but it's just a first look.

August 1, 20204 yr The new color scheme just seems a lot brighter. Actually, is there a Dark Mode in our personal settings somewhere? Or would we just have to do that on our local machines, across the board, not specifically to the forum?
August 2, 20204 yr At the bottom of the page it says "Theme" right below the social media icons. Click that and the option for Dark Mode pops up.
August 2, 20204 yr In the NE Ohio Construction threads-all the construction threads- the posts don’t go all the way across the screen. There is a big rectangle full of info on the upper right portion of the page that seems to be limiting how far right the posts can go. Pic below. In this Forum Invasion 4.5 thread, the posts do go all the way across as shown in the below pic. How do I make the posts go all the way across the screen as it’s visually unpleasant to have only 2/3 of the screen filled and a big white space on the right. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I've changed the way the thread summary is shown. It should be shown after the first post now, inline with the rest of the thread.

It seems a little weird that it is after the first post, instead of before it. Why is that? I also find it odd that when a thread loads it doesn't start at the top of the page to begin with, though I understand the point is to launch us right into the meat of the discussion. But it makes it a bit weird to navigate a page- the first thing I always do is grab the scroll control to start moving down the page, but it isn't where I expect it to be.

I too think before the first post would be the best place. The alternative is not to display it at all. 2 - It's set up that way to take you to the first unread post. You can change the behavior in your profile if you would like to change it to the top of the page or the first post overall.

August 3, 20204 yr Ah, I see, it's kind of redundant for those folks. I'm a cold-blooded Android user
August 4, 20204 yr Is it possible to return to the softer blue of the previous forum which is easier on the eyes than the current harsh black and white? I feel like the viewing experience is different and the only thing I can think of is there is less blue and more white. Please correct me if I'm imagining this. It also could be that the forum topics are now written in black type instead of dark blue? Again, I can't put my finger on it, but something is different.

No, we cannot go back to the 4.4 style/design. But what I can do is create a new theme and attempt to mold it closer to the previous look. Then you’d be able to switch to that theme.
August 4, 20204 yr I get this error when I click on the "Transportation" parent forum- tried multiple times. I am guessing it's because there are no actual threads in there, they are all in child forums, but it could cause navigation issues for forumers. edit- I can navigate to all the child forums just fine.

I’ll change it so that the child forums are displayed instead a permission error.
August 5, 20204 yr Definitely noticed the change in look. I like the new typography, but when they said their goal was "A brighter UI with more saturation" they really went for it. I do miss some of light grays of the old look that was a little less stark. But I'm sure I'll get used to it. Has anyone come across any new features worth mentioning?
August 9, 20204 yr Twitter quotes are unreadable in the Default Dark theme. Some might say this is a good thing, but it is there a way to make that text lighter against the dark background?

August 11, 20204 yr I swear the other day it was even worse- just full black on black. But I can't seem to replicate that for some reason. But the above is hard enough to read.

Do you have a dark mode enabled on your browser, too? It could be that you're using the dark them on UO and have a dark mode extension used on your browser and it's messing things up?
August 11, 20204 yr Good suggestion, and I do have a dark theme enabled on my browser, but after switching back to a light theme, it doesn't seem to be effecting the displayed web content any, just the browser itself.
