Picture off one of my friend's facebook. Key tower actually looks pretty nice with a darker crown. This view would also be amazing with SHW in it!

Would SWHQ even be visible in either of these? Maybe a corner or two, but it seems the building would be hidden behind the E&Y Building or Terminal Tower in both photos respectively.

Ya low-effort post tbh but the tower only barely peaks out in both views...

Cleveland Development Model (3D Map)

This interactive tool is designed to provide a look at the significant private and public investment taking place in Cleveland’s Central Business District, an area roughly bounded by W. 28th Street to the west, E. 30th Street to the east, the Innerbelt to the south and Lake Erie to the north.

GCP’s new web tool gives development insights

By Ken Prendergast / September 11, 2022

A new Web-based development tool went live today to give prospective real estate investors more information on where and what is going on around sites in which they may be interested in buying and developing. The tool, developed by the Greater Cleveland Partnership and City Architecture of Cleveland, is available to the public free of charge and without any registration required.

Nice! But I thought the NW corner of West 65th and Madison would be a good spot for a new mid- to high-rise residential building with neighborhood retail like a fresh food market on the ground floor.

Oh, that’s in phase 2 :)

I like it! It's always a fun exercise to show how much potential we have to build up and densify around our existing train station nodes. Maybe phase 2 will include the same residential over commerical treatment along Lorain and 65th in front of Zone rec? 😉

Would one of you pro's ( @Geowizical @Pleco??) be able to do a mock up of what a 15 floor building, similar to the size of Bridgeworks, would look like on the south-east side of 25th and Detroit(the location in the below pic)?  It would be cool to see a graphic of how that intersection would feel with having the Bridgeworks building built as well as a similar size building on the opposite corner(see below)!!!

Thanks in advance, your fantastic work is always appreciated!

Hey @Geowizical I know you've got a lot going on with special requests on here, plus the holidays, so pardon me 🙂  I just wanted to see if you were able to put anything together in regards to the above?

It'd be great to see a view looking east down Detroit towards the CBD with buildings on both those corners.

Thanks!

I know there’s a lot of forumers still hoping that we  get something as or almost as  significant on that site.

@Geowizicalthink a lot of us were revisiting your excellent rendering reposted by @Oldmanladylucktoday - don’t know if you’d mind  a request here - if you could ever tweak that angle from your rendering to also show the Erieview Tower, Lumen, Beacon and City Club  (and maybe the Rhodes Tower)  added to that general view - it would be supercool and very much appreciated!

Thx @CleveFanand @Oldmanladyluckfor reachin into the renderings archives today - almost forgot I did that mockup! I don't know how much more I can include in that image but I have another one from nearly the same angle that I was using for my Irishtown Bend rendering that has all the new buildings... maybe I'll go back and continue workin on that one... (I think the image is a little higher-quality anyways)

In the 1920s/30s, it was supposed to look like the rest of the Landmark Building, which is actually four buildings (Midland, Guildhall, Republic and Medical Arts). They never built the fifth.

I assume--and hope--this was posted as a joke. It not only would be horribly tacky for Cleveland--but without the head of the guitar its just looks really silly and incomplete.

Interesting.  It would be nice to see something built there in my lifetime.  If so, I hope it is a design that blends with the existing buildings.

Still one of my favorites of the many buildings not built in Cleveland. What an attractive entrance it would have made as you drive north toward Public Square.

I spend too much time dreaming about what could be and what could have been lol. Need to get a life.

I whole-heartedly agree with you @cadmen. When SHW unveiled this design in 1990 I felt it would immediately upgrade the impression of visitors to the city and give the skyline a boost as well. As I look at it now, I think it would aged well-especially in that spot.

^ good places for those!

actually seriously i think a flying v rocker guitar would be kind of alright for cle, in the right place like closer to the rrhof, but i’m just afraid longterm it wouldnt age well and would get rundown pretty easily in the weather. its definitely a warm weather resort area kind of building. and an eyesore lol.

Short aside; being on the forum this morning inspired me to try typing, "A photorealistic view of downtown Cleveland in 2050 if all local proposed skyscraper projects had ever been built." into OpenAI's image generating software — just to see how bad it would be. Giggling at the results. Enjoy the CLE that might have been! 🤣

damn even an AI Chatbot thinks we'll never develop the lakefront 😅

I actually really like some of these as concepts. Some of the crowns have a sorta nuevo-baroque dome style that's real cool.

Clearly it thinks we're getting rid of First Energy Stadium, too.
