February 3, 20223 yr Thanks so much @Geowizical- always love your visualizations! Your first rendering above really underscores how much Bedrock would add to tha skyline if it’s anywhere around 500 feet or more. Something similar to Detroit’s 685’ HUDson Tower would be epic. Big city vibe and undisputed best skyline in Ohio. Make it so Bedrock!

As a side note, I find the trend of adding green roofs into every rendering obnoxious. They almost certainly won't be there in the finished product, so it ends up just being a cheap way to make the development look more "green"
February 3, 20223 yr Just a brutal amount of asphalt in a city center. Can't wait to see it go. More Toledo than Chicago.

February 3, 20223 yr Author Thanks for the kind words everyone! I do especially like the render with Scranton Peninsula in the foreground too 🤩
February 3, 20223 yr I don't know if it's just me, but every time I see these visualizations, which are amazing, I think to myself how nice they'd be (or finger's crossed will be) without the Justice Center sticking out like a sore thumb. Here's hoping!

Some of the angles where the top isn't well defined or it blocks the more cohesive, elegant buildings i don't care for it, but in this view it looks great!

February 4, 20223 yr That is a beautiful shot! You know for all my bitchin' about how we're falling behind our peer cities if you ever go to the Pittsburgh, Columbus or Cincinnati forums on different sites you will read comments complaining about the lack of progress in building high rises. Skyscraper site has a before and after picture of different cities skylines. It shows Pittsburgh in the 1980's and now. No difference. One local guy commented that Pittsburgh was stuck in the 80's. Meanwhile, slowly but surely good 'ol Cleveland IS making steady progress one building at a time. Now if we could jumpstart the economy, grow Case Western, identify Cleveland with NASA, establish the city as the prime container port on the Great Lakes with ships lined up to load and unload and...well I see I still have some bitchin' to do. Sorry guys.

Sorry guys. I always tell folks to consider how dense our skyline would be if we were confined to the "Golden Triangle". That said, pgh has narrower streets downtown and it really helps it feel like a buzzing downtown. But I digress. Thanks @Geowizicalfor your renders, if ya don't mind I may shoot some more photos your way :)

February 4, 20223 yr The geography and narrow streets help but to be fair a big part of the buzz is they probably have more people working downtown as well.
February 4, 20223 yr Author I'm probably won't have time to do all of these @GISguylol, but I'll pick a few of my favs as I find time: Figured I'd start formatting "commissions" just for consistency and recognition of the person who requested/took the original photo, timestamped ofc And yes, this is now the official logo for my future dream design firm lmao I think the company motto would be something like "Let's get this thing built already" 🤪 Edited February 4, 20223 yr by Geowizical

Yes and no. As soon as you go across the river or across the highway they just have blocks and blocks of consecutive craters, especially near their arenas and convention center. It's been a while since I've been there so maybe that's changed.

I know it's a sidebar convo in here, but the Northside is starting to build up around the stadiums (baseball and football) and I just saw today that an apt bldg has been proposed on a lot by the ballpark (I think). They're also building up around the Strip District where there was a lot of lots. The PNC Tower was under construction when I still lived there and it was a cluster vs SHW site and our wide roads/such a massive buildable lot. I'd be game to continue the conversation in a more appropriate part of the forum haha.

February 5, 20223 yr As for the Ohio Bell, aka AT&T, (aka OneAmerica Network OAN Financier) Building on Huron; it may not make sense to illuminate the exterior of the building given the sad appearance of those rooftop rigs, but a few light bulbs left on inside here and there on timers would improve AT&T's appearance on the skyline and look as if they care or wish to contribute to the life of our town. - If not with bodies in the building, at least with a modest appearance of vibrancy. February 5, 20223 yr I wish Art Deco and Beaux made a comeback, unfortunately molding and textile industries haven't been very cheap in recent years. I would hate for every new building to be a glass cage from here on out. I always love the look of vintage.

February 8, 20223 yr Great work! I like how SHW makes the courthouse tower finally look like it belongs in the skyline, it always looked like an outlier. Now we just need a 600' tall Bedrock Tower between the Beacon and PNC Building!

It would be cool to see a current updated visual to the 2011 picture and an updated 2020’s planned and proposed future picture. Btw- this view looking north from Lake Erie and the view looking north from the 490 bridge have always been my favorite. This image has been really useful over the years to visualize the future skyline. I found an image on twitter from NWS Cleveland that I feel like can do the same thing, but is more updated for the existing skyline than the 2011 skyline and has a little more color, instead of being just gray lol. Might have to crop/zoom to make it more useful. Also, this is my first post on the forum so I hope this posts correctly and you can see the image I attached. When you get the chance, I have a request. Would it be possible to expand on this visual and add Bedrock's riverfront development plans across from Tower City? I know it'd likely be difficult since the the textures are different, but I was interested in seeing how all these projects would look together. Thank you!
