Cuyahoga might not qualify for grants

A new state grant program is supposed to help Ohio compete for major development, but proposed rules might keep Cuyahoga County out of the game.

 

A draft of rules for the new Ohio Job Ready Sites program says the projects must be at least 150 acres to qualify for the money, which can be used to buy and develop land. A heavily developed urban county like Cuyahoga would be lucky to put together 30 to 50 acres for a project, county officials said...

These folks at the Ohio Department of Development aren't thinking. If they are, it's against Ohio's urban areas -- which is a pretty common theme in state government these days.
