The warmth of her skating seems to melt the ice into its liquid form. A truly breathtaking performance!

Magnificent. My 15 year old still has to use the bunny-ear method to tie his shoelaces.

More doping issues from Russia?  Who could have seen this coming except literally everyone.  I don't think Valieva is to blame as she's only 15, but rather her coach(es) and the Russian Federation who don't seem to care about punishments like "Olympics Athletes of Russia" and "Russian Olympic Committee."

Anyway, hope Valieva can get away from her monster of a coach, Marina Kudriavtseva.  She has a track record of coaching girls who seem to retire before they're 21.

EDIT - mixing up the names of the coaches, possible.  Eteri Tutberidze is the head coach at the Sambo 70 club in Moscow.  She coached Evgenia Medvedeva, who retired before she turned 22 due to a chronic back injury.  She coached Alina Zagitova, who effectively retired at the age of 18 (she was suspended in 2020 and then was not included on the Russian national team for the '21-'22 season.  She hasn't competed since 2020.  Tutberidze coached Yulia Lipnitskaya, the gold medalist in 2014, who retired at the age of 19 in 2017.  So there's a bit of a track record in Russia of burning these girls out before they even hit adulthood.  Several former skaters have said their coaches deprived them of food during practices, skating them starved.

2nd EDIT - Tutberidze had Anna Shcherbakova compete with covid last year.
