January 11, 20205 yr It's just unbelievable how much grit and grime has collected on those buildings over the past century! The unrefurbished rears of the buildings are jet black, whereas the front facades represent the buildings' original stone color. Amazing!

And this is what was demolished for the Stillman Theatre. I wish some architects would dig up the plans for some of these old buildings and reproduce the buildings. Retain as much of the outer appearance and inner layout as possible while accommodating modern needs (and designing for eventual re-use as needs change so that buildings are not torn down!)

January 27, 20205 yr Is this a two-story addition or one-story? To me it looks like a one story addition, with higher ceilings.

February 6, 20205 yr I'm 50/50 based on the rendering, but also, thinking about looking down Euclid towards PHQ this would be a cool piece of the gateway from E9. Thanks @tykaps.
February 6, 20205 yr Not a fan of the design. It'd also be super annoying to stay in one of those rooms and have that thing shining bright right outside at night.

February 7, 20205 yr I like the blade sign idea but yeesh I am not a fan of this logo/font choice... I am concerned about the retail space. We have all of this, plus the Statler has some, there is some on the opposite side of Euclid, there is the CAC (if you assume that very questionable-looking car showroom is temporary), Schofield corner, and upcoming Centennial, plus there is the Sterling building which recently landed Chase but still has other empty storefronts. Hopefully the additional population those properties will bring will mean actual tenants! Edited February 7, 20205 yr by mrclifton88

February 14, 20205 yr It looks like the 925 building was power washed. Does anyone know if that's true or is it just an optical allusion?

If a freaking Dollar Tree goes in there, we're donezo. If its a nice retailer or local merchant(s), we're golden.
February 18, 20205 yr Actually, I wouldn't mind a Dollar Store going in downtown, perhaps in this project. It would add a lot of foot traffic here and provide some basic necessities for downtown living that no store, apart from A Dollar at Tower City, offers. Wait, disregard that. I think I just risked turning this thread into another hopeless downtown retail debate. ? March 1, 20205 yr Wow! I keep forgetting that section with the beautiful arched windows was covered up.
March 7, 20205 yr Construction’s really coming along!! I’m so excited for these to be completed. The Euclid Avenue corridor is being transformed from a row of neglected, abandoned buildings into vibrant, beautifully restored collection of historic icons.

April 9, 20205 yr They've really done a beautiful job. I was worried this would be gimmicky, but it looks first class
April 9, 20205 yr As someone mentioned upthread, with these restorations, this little stretch of Euclid has a very European (Paris or London) feel to it.

April 9, 20205 yr What a stunning transformation. I haven’t seen anyone post any interior/unit renderings yet and was curious, so ended up finding some on Euclid Grand’s Facebook as well as apartments.com. This is going to be quite the place!! And check out all the amenities!
April 9, 20205 yr Wow that is really nice... LOVE the outdoor space. I live at the Halle Building and while I love the units, the huge windows and the location I WISH so badly they would've designed outdoor space on the roof. All the nearby buildings have rooftops (CAC, Statler, and soon to be JHB)
April 9, 20205 yr If downtown keeps producing wonderful living options like this, I think the goal of 30,000 residents by 2030 will be rather easily met. Great graphics from Euclid Grand there!
