Don't get me started again on the scraggly round planters used as traffic control on the Superior side of the Renaissance (aka Hotel Cleveland).
April 21, 20232 yr aaand the google bard magic a.i. eightball sez: 😅 will a second city club apartment building be built in cleveland? edit View other drafts There is no official announcement yet about a second City Club Apartment building in Cleveland. However, it is possible that one could be built in the future. The first City Club Apartment building was a success, and it has helped to revitalize the downtown area. If another one were to be built, it could continue this trend and make Cleveland an even more attractive place to live. Here are some factors that could influence the decision to build a second City Club Apartment building in Cleveland: The success of the first City Club Apartment building: If the first City Club Apartment building is successful, it will be more likely that another one will be built. The first building has helped to revitalize the downtown area and attract new businesses and residents. The demand for housing in Cleveland: The demand for housing in Cleveland is increasing. As the city continues to grow, the need for more housing will also increase. A second City Club Apartment building could help to meet this demand. The availability of land: The availability of land in downtown Cleveland is limited. If a second City Club Apartment building is to be built, it will need to be built on land that is currently available. The cost of construction: The cost of construction in Cleveland is increasing. The decision to build another one will depend on a number of factors, including the success of the first building, the demand for housing in Cleveland, the availability of land, and the cost of construction.
April 21, 20232 yr Oooo...that crosswalk. It's so weirdly bad l wonder if there's more to the story. So you have the...ah, pattern deviation followed by l can only assume was the supervisory sign-off. Finally there's the upper level administration just ignoring sh*tty work in a high profile location. Either there's a good reason for it or city government is even worse than the stereotype. Come on Mayor Bibb, at least make a phone call.

April 21, 20232 yr Author At the groundbreaking ceremony, City Club officials suggested that their second location in Cleveland probably wouldn't be downtown. I'm guessing University Circle. April 22, 20232 yr I think that what @marty15 is saying is, he feels it will lease out in record time! As is my opinion and I’m sure lots of other people as well! If this great upscale building doesn’t fill up quickly then there’s no hope for Cleveland and the “great city of Cleveland” might as well roll up its side walks!…😂
April 22, 20232 yr Good god that parking garage is atrocious. @LibertyBlvdeluded to it earlier, any chance that lot on prospect gets developed any time soon? I'd imagine this development makes it much more attractive now @KJP
April 22, 20232 yr Just dreaming and you’re going to have to use a lot of your imagination here, lol, but I think they should build an identical building on the other side of the garage with a wide “bridge” at the top, almost as wide as the buildings, connecting the two and create an “urban park in the sky” with grass and trees for the residents of both buildings! Would be a great place to just relax and get a little sun or whatever! Would make for a very unique urban apartment complex! Just sayin’!

Essentially add a flat concrete roof to the garage, then tie into it from each building. I would think the garage could support it. It wouldn’t be holding hundreds of thousands of pounds of cars. Just trees and planters and such. And give the tenants on the back sides a nice view. Let’s roll with it Larry! lol

April 24, 20232 yr Lookin’ so good! Think I’m in love! 🥰 And thanks to all you arch-addicts posting such great photo’s on here! Can’t get enough!..😜 Edited April 24, 20232 yr by Larry
April 25, 20232 yr Hey, pics one and two let us know City Club will have a higher profile than maybe we thought. That's a little unexpected, for me at least.
April 25, 20232 yr if i'm counting right looks like the 18th floor at the highest point? So 5 more floors after that
April 27, 20232 yr Finally, discounting the elevator/stairwell shaft, which was already higher, they are working on the 19th(?) floor which “OFFICIALLY” passes the older City Club Building! 👏 Been watching and waiting for this to happen for what seems like forever! But to be fair, this building seems to be moving along at record breaking speed with only 4(?) more floors to go! 🥳 Edited April 27, 20232 yr by Larry
April 27, 20232 yr @sonisharri, thanks for the great photos and just think how this shot would look with another one built on this side of the garage, but add at least ten more floors in height!!
May 3, 20232 yr 9th and Euclid looking west. You can see the City Club Apartment site just behind the Schofield on the left.

That rooftop is going to be great! Although, as a bit of rooftops snob myself, I think it’s a missed opportunity to have the outdoor deck oriented towards the east, instead of Public Square (and dramatic summertime Lake Erie sunsets) to the west. Still, will be quite the impressive rooftop for downtown Cleveland! I imagine the guest policies will be fun to enforce. Edited May 4, 20232 yr by brtshrcegr

May 4, 20232 yr Love it!! I read somewhere awhile ago that some rooms will be available to rent for a day? If this is true I will be on that sweet rooftop, after some cocktails at Green Box, in my mankini this summer.

May 4, 20232 yr Nitpicking: that rendering of the rooftop looks off to me, vis-a-vis 5th/3rd Tower in the background. Like the rendering was oriented too far counter-clockwise on the map. The City Club's eastern wall on the right side of the picture should be pointing to the right/east of 3/5 Tower. Am I crazy? (This is not an important issue).
May 4, 20232 yr I think the entire rendering is off. The rest of the renderings show the highest part of the curved roof area on the west side.
May 4, 20232 yr I don't know...l think l prefer the name Hippodrome for a bar/restaurant. It would give us a chance to say "l'll meet you at the Hipp."

Big fan of these developers filling spaces with their own hospitality offerings. As much as I appreciate the local community and businesses moving into new builds, it seems like a no-brainer to build and fill rather than let sit vacant waiting for a local business to swoop in and fill. (These might be local proprietors filling it but it feels like it's a similar situation to The Intro) Edited May 4, 20232 yr by downtownjoe
May 4, 20232 yr Is it just me or does that one rooftop pic show an image of the Terminal Tower during the 1986 balloon release fiasco near the pool?
