didn't realize the roof was gonna be accessible to the public? That tweet makes it sound like it's going to be a bar. I was thinking this whole time the top floor was just going to be amenities for residents.

If so then this space could be as big of a hit as The 9 and its patio.

I remember reading "cafe" on the signage outside the building. A coffee shop in the sky would be a remote worker's dream.

Happy to announce I will actually be moving here! Met with them in their office on Euclid across from HOB last week. Fourth floor with a tentative move-in date around mid October. We talked about the rooftop quite a bit but I heard no mention of it being open to the public. I think they just open that area under the swoop on weekends for the residents. I personally could care less, but I'd imagine residents would not want people off the streets coming up there to use the amenities they are paying for.

So if not, we can use my access to have a rooftop UO Lounge meetup!

If they are opening a rooftop cocktail bar on the weekends, maybe it will have separate access to the entire roof? From the looks of the photos they posted and referring to is as the cocktail bar, it looks like they were working on a level that is above the level with the pool and all that. Could be like The 9 where they have a separate elevator just for Eden.

I hope that it is! I will definitely keep everyone posted when I find out

😄 I'm keeping that house so the name will stay for now!!

But "4thFloorGreg" doesn't sound too bad lol

@GREGinPARMA did the sexy bathroom lure you in? Seems like a huge selling point if we're being honest. lol

lol it was all of the amazing amenities. Seems pretty unmatched to anywhere else in the area, although Intro goes toe to toe with it

So if it went Toe-to-Toe with Intro, what was the thing that put it over the top? The Downtown address?

I have a good friend - who has a friend -who lives at Intro (I know, that’s second hand) but anyway, he reported “poor management” issues at Intro .  Not too sure what the specifics are but certainly that’s a concern if true.  Why build a great building only to create a negative culture due to poor management.  But this is the CC thread - so congrats @GREGinPARMAon your new digs downtown!

1. Price. The studio apartment at City Club was a couple hundred dollars cheaper per month with a little more sq. ft

2. Intro doesn't have a speakeasy in the basement 😉

3. I loved City Clubs pitch of making the building a community and holding events for everyone to meet such as happy hours at one of their bars or Browns viewing parties, etc.

Which, by the way, I was aware of the building having a movie theater room but had no clue they will also have an outdoor one on the roof when it's nice out and have movie nights.

Thanks so much!! Always welcome to drop by for a coffee or cocktail and hopefully even get a UO meeting there if I'm allowed!

I'm also moving in and I'm certain that the rooftop bar is not open to the public. It is for residents only and will be open all week, but on the weekends the rooftop bar will be "staffed". I'm really sorry to be the bearer of bad news. It would have been cool to be open to the public. Every other bar/restaurant/coffee shop in the building will be open to the public.

One would assume guests of residents would be welcomed 😜

Maybe a UO rooftop happy hour one night next summer?

Haha! I'm certain guests of residents are welcomed. If I can't bring friends up there I'm breaking my lease.

A UO happy hour up there would be great! I would be happy to get permission.

The only thing the Cle skyline needs more than color is some interesting shapes.  CC delivers on both.

Can someone better skilled in Photoshop add one of these curvy roof things to Erieview Tower and perhaps the Justice Center?

Was downtown for work for a bit today. Couldn’t grab a pic, but the Swoop™️ is nicely visible from E 9th street as you drive past the ballpark into the city. Also it’s noticeable from I-90 in either direction. And lastly, the top of CC is finally partially (barely lol) visible from our offices on the 26th floor of 1111 Superior. 👍

Great photo, @Larry Flynt!

What a presence it has already. Imagine the visual “pop” it will have when finished.

Would be glad to if I still lived in Ohio!  I’ve been living in Southern California now for most of my life!  But I’m still an Ohioan at heart!  Ohio…all things good!

Cross-posting from SW threat. Lovely views from TRUSS at INTRO for last night's G2H2 event! CC will stand out nicely from this view when completed and fully Swoop-ed.

@Larry and @dave2017, why not join the many former NEO residents who have brought their talents back home to participate in the reemergence of one of America’s great cities.

Snagged this shot while shooting a wedding yesterday at the Hilton. Also, while driving north on E.9th it's really visible and having that roof lit up at night is going to make such a statement. If it wasn't for that swoop this building would hardly be visible.

I'd prefer calling the swoop "The Ski Jump." 😬

I like either, “The Wave” or “Hang-10” 😘

They should put a Nike store in the lobby

The crown of City Club Apartments has. a nostalgic nod to the lost Bond Bldg that once sat where PNC now stands

mapping-cleveland-image.jpg

What a killer boutique hotel that woulda made.

Can someone shoot a few photos from PNC Plaza and/or the east side of East 9th now that the “Swoop/Ski Jump/Wave” is in place? Thanks.

That Bond store was probably not well built to begin with, but it would be fun if it were still around and the National City tower had been squeezed between it and the old NCB building.

Really interesting how the shadows reflect.  I wonder if we’ll see anything similar in the future?

In high school I worked for Bond (Southgate location) and back then thought the downtown location was hideous.  Now  I think it was something special and clearly added more to Euclid Avenue street life than the current PNC plaza.

I actually would have liked it if City Club did something to pay homage to the Cleveland Hippodrome which was previously on the site.  Maybe incorporate some sort of funky theatre marquee into the design.

There was supposed to be either a bar or restaurant in City Club called The Hippodrome, but apparently they decided to go with a different name.

The Hippodrome- a few people I know wish it was still around.

At least City Club is bringing back the Technicolor to this location! 🤪

Oh man, wow. No offense City Club, I like you. You’re pretty and new and look good in purple…but damn, those older gals just do it for me.
