Can someone shoot a few photos from PNC Plaza and/or the east side of East 9th now that the “Swoop/Ski Jump/Wave” is in place? Thanks.

...but with cranes:

Thank you, @MayDay!

Great photo. CC’s dynamic colors and design is going to fire up that entire intersection. Maybe PNC should demo the Plaza and turn it into a nice public park. It would certainly be better for the planet than a fully paved plaza. It would no doubt be very popular with all of the residences popping up in that area. I’m guessing it would improve property values as well.

Thank you @Sonisharri !
Euclid is regaining its status as the “Grand Avenue” - one building at a time.

There was some discussion on this in the downtown parks and public spaces thread a while back.

Thanks @MayDay, just the view I’ve been waiting for!  Outstanding! 😜

Sooo cool to see the swoop will have the hole in it for the tree. I don't know why but I love that and it's unique lol

Agreed! I think it was shown in one of the renderings of the swoop from ages ago ... and I was wondering if the hole would actually be there once built. 👍

I went back and looked at the original docs filed with the city ... this was the first design, not the final tweaked one. So Swoop details may have changed, but at one point there was more than one hole in it. 😀🕳🕳

Looks like the swoop might be well lit - hope so - it would add another interesting nighttime element to the skyline

Will there be heating elements in that concrete to keep ice and snow from forming and sliding off? And what's that thing that looks like a rowboat?

I think that "rowboat" is just forming for the circular cutout. Good question regarding the ice and snow.  I was surprised this was a concrete pour element

With the shape of it, ice and snow should stay within it.

That thing is huge. It looks way bigger in real life than the pics. Definitely unique for Cleveland.

I always find it helpful to have a human in a photo to show how the scale of how large this project is. Kudos to the architect for making a building feel light with a sense of style and whimsy all its own

That corner is getting some density.

Never realized how much more slender that building is versus The Beacon.

Not to go far off topic, but It also shows the relatively large scale of The Beacon.  No Nucleus, but Stark did get this excellent contribution done.

Has anybody else noticed that the CC Apartments construction cam is frozen on 8:09 AM today, Tuesday?

Great photo @MayDay!  Thanks!👍

Looks like ?the two floors below the swoop angle up at the edges.  Is that real or an illusion?

Illusion.

Neither, they angle OUT.

@LarryI'm going through construction cam withdrawal. How are you holding up?

Almost ready to end it all!…lol😜. Does anybody have any idea when the cam will be up and running again?  I would almost bet that they have opened the “oval” hole by now!

Has quite a commanding presence.

And I actually loved hearing “stuck in traffic” - go CLE!  Sorry, and thanks @Blimp City

Infill at its finest.

Would be nice if National City put in a ground floor restaurant with outdoor seating on that plaza.....

Pretty cool seeing the cutouts from down Euclid

Teeeeeechnically they have a lunch cafe on the other side in the sunken courtyard, it's a nice (kind of peaceful (or desolate)) spot to eat/have a coffee. I know you're talking more of a resto/cafe/Fahrenheit situation out in the open and I'm with ya. Maybe w/the conversion of The Centennial we'll see something develop here.

I wonder if the owners of the old city club building that's wedged in there will be embarrassed enough to do something with their building?

City Club Apartments tops out

By Ken Prendergast / August 17, 2023

Cleveland Construction, Inc., the contractor behind the City Club Apartments project in downtown Cleveland, celebrated a significant construction milestone as the project reached its full height. The “Topping Out” event was held today and highlighted by a team lunch provided by Fahrenheit’s food truck and a ceremonial steel beam signing by all the craft professionals building the project.

Get your multi-crane skyline photos while you can.  Who knows when we’ll see that again.

Sure would be nice if City Club 2 is not too far away. I heard that it will probably go to UC area, but it sure would be nice if it would go

Downtown, Maybe of of those in the Haslam lakefront drawings or maybe on the other side of this one on Prospect.

What's the leasing status on this building so far?  Full?
