Weren’t people going to start moving in, in April? Would love to see more photos from the inside also! Seems like it’s been a long time since we’ve seen or heard anything about this project except from the construction cam.!

May 12, 20241 yr Did all those French restaurants open up yet on the ground floor? Is there a bar/restaurant on the top floor as well?

May 14, 20241 yr How are the move in dates looking? Any additional shifts? @Milkshake1 @GREGinPARMA Edited May 14, 20241 yr by GISguy

The final straw was that the rooftop wouldn't be ready until "at least end of July" so I just washed my hands of it. Too many headaches

Your username still works, for now haha Did they have anything to say about your cancellation?

Hopefully another place works out. We will all have to live vicariously through @Milkshake1 now. When is the last time I-71 turned a profit?
May 14, 20241 yr Thanks guys! And no the dude was super cool about it and understood. Mailed me a check for $500. @Milkshake1 we are all relying on you now! Edited May 14, 20241 yr by GREGinPARMA

I could move in now, but the murphy beds are not in yet. Regardless whether they're in by June 13th, I'm going to move in. I'll just put the mattress on the floor until the murphy beds come in.

The final straw was that the rooftop wouldn't be ready until "at least end of July" so I just washed my hands of it. Too many headaches I can't say I blame you. It's been very frustrating. I'm super disappointed about the rooftop and pool situation not being completed until at least the end of July. What a bummer it would be to have it completed just as summer is ending if there are any more delays. And I am fully expecting more delays just based on precedent. Regardless, I'm sticking with it and looking forward to getting the unit next month. I'll be sure to send interior pics of everything.

Yeah, the leasing agent is really nice. I feel bad for him. He must have called me 5 times explaining there's been yet another delay. I can only imagine some of the reactions he's been getting.

June 7, 20241 yr ^It will be even nicer when it's complete... whenever that is. I really wonder what the issue with the delays has been? Material, labor? Poor coordination? This and Library Lofts are competing for the record of slowest built apartment buildings in modern Cleveland history!
June 12, 20241 yr Looks like trees are getting planted and concrete barriers are being removed along Euclid.

June 13, 20241 yr So I was supposed to move in tomorrow, but they hit me with a surprise fee right at the moment of lease signing. I can't stand stuff like that, so out of principle I pushed my move in date back until late July. Not a big deal anyway as the murphy bed isn't in, the rooftop isn't done, and neither are the coffee shop, bars, or restaurants. This building is mostly about amenities and there are no amenities yet, so no big deal. Sorry about not being able to post photos as promised. I'll get them eventually!

No regret getting out of my lease. Remember when we were supposed to be in there in October? Hopefully we can get a little UO meetup there before we are all in the grave

But yes I'll be in there late next month and we'll get a meetup on the roof someday with any luck!

June 21, 2024Jun 21 In case anybody forgets how much of a slog these projects can be, throwback to June 20th, 2022. Glad it's nearing the finish line.
June 21, 2024Jun 21 To piggyback off this ^ it's crazy when the memories come up on my phone from the past few years. So many transformative projects downtown.
July 6, 2024Jul 6 The sidewalk needs to open up already. Its been too long for a project this size. The city needs to let them know its not acceptable. Especially when it encroaches onto the street. Edited July 6, 2024Jul 6 by freethink .

For a building with a setback from the street, you'd think they'd be able to work without closing the sidewalk entirely (or at least provide a protected pedestrian detour). I really wanna see more new construction like this downtown, but is it really necessary to force pedestrians across (in practice often into) the street every time?

It's probably the safest option, and for this project, the tower crane was set up literally where the old sidewalk was, so, there's that.
July 10, 2024Jul 10 Filming the Superman movie. Note the flags on the Cityclub building, and the decals on the bus. There are a few camera crews standing around and the production crew is setup by that screen on the sidewalk in front of CVS.
