Sorry to be blowing up this thread, but I'm headed to Detroit for the Bills game and just so happens I'll be staying in one of their City Clubs - I'll be sure to post some photos. Looking through the listing it was very obvious it was a CC lol can't wait to experience the over the top gaudiness in person!

Edited by GISguy

It looks like it is taller than the skylounge now,

So the CC we stayed in was pretty much a rebrand of another building and aside from the lobby you probably wouldn't have known that it was a CC. Kind of crazy though, the lobby was spot on..otherwise it was just another apartment haha

Otherwise just a regular hotel/apartment complex...

Continuing to rise!

Wow surprising difference between this pic and the one right above it from Friday. Guess they should be starting to move quick on this now that they are past the first few floors?

I love this project already! Man this is gonna get good.

Right. I don't know what l like better, the very modern design or the fact it's filling in a parking lot. Either way, it's all good.

That spot has been like a missing front tooth.  Glad to see it finally being filled.

It should surpass The Residences at 668 in height in about 8 weeks, depending on the weather.

I wonder what City Club moving out of their building next door means for that building?  Would be nice to see that one get an upgrade.

Where are they going?

I heard they were moving to ATL.

All I'm asking is that whoever buys it, restores the original classic facade out front, with the Greek pillars.

Cleveland Construction always has good updates:

Dog daycare chain eyeing downtown
By Ken Prendergast / December 15, 2022

A national dog daycare chain is eyeballing the Greater Cleveland area and may start by planting its flag in downtown Cleveland. Dogtopia franchisee and self-described dog lover Alex Mazzenga of Cleveland Heights is seeking to open a dog daycare business at the City Club Apartments, 776 Euclid Ave, according to a building permit application filed with the city this week. The investment necessary to build out the space, estimated by the permit at up to $1 million, shows there’s some serious puppy love involved.

After looking at that parking lot for so long I wouldn’t have been disappointed if it topped out here.

That's allota crane!

@Geowizicalcare to photoshop a sunny day? lol

The cloudy day really accentuates the brown pallet of downtown.  Glad this building will inject some color and energy to Euclid Ave.

I guess l'm the persnickety type but l really don't like seeing the side wall of 668. Wished City Club was built up to the front wall of 668. Oh well.

Yeah man, that cornice wall should’ve at least been returned to cover the bracing. That s**t bothers me as much as the light out on the Beacon light ring. It’s been a couple years now. I know you know what I’m talking about. KILLSSSSSS me.

Ha! Guess l'm not the only one then.

You are not alone.  At least most of it will be concealed when City Club is completed.  Maybe they can punch out a few openings in the side and install some windows.  Or at least paint a mural on the side.  They definitely need to do something with the cornice.

From an aesthetics perspective, I agree. That said, I think the residents will really appreciate the extra windows. I'd love to see windows added to the 668 as well.

Construction pace has really picked up.  About 6 days per floor now.  From the construction cam view, the UO lounge should disappear about Thursday.

Today’s update!

At this rate it could top out in about 4 months

When do you expect S-W to top out?

I thought I would do an overlay with the rendering and where construction is at

Outstanding work!

Thanks

Man, people are so creative. Thanks Dave.

That's cool!  Would love to see a SW version of that when it gets a bit higher :)

Awesome!  Question - from this rendering it looks like the finished building will be taller than the current crane height.  Previous conversation was that it would come in under the current crane height.  I realize that this is just a creative rendering (and a very cool one).  Just wondering.

Meanwhile down Euclid…

I haven’t been by for a while so I’m glad to see they’re working the 8th floor already.

I feel like the taller it gets the less the slight setback bugs me. This is going to look great once the facade is on

Drove down Euclid yesterday afternoon heading west, the street already feels different. With this going up, and SHW rising straight ahead, lower Euclid feels like a big, cozy room.

They're starting to frame the outside of the second floor, so we'll start seeing it sooner than later.

Makes me look forward to the day when the empty parking lot behind City Club on Prospect gets developed too. Euclid is running out of space!
