Posted January 23, 20223 yr One gem of a topic not often discussed or known is the unique aspect that Cleveland still has several parishes who celebrate church in the native immigrants languages. A few that I know about: Croatian: https://stpaulcroatianchurch.org/ Hungarian: https://stemeric.com/hu/ Polish: https://www.ststanislaus.org/ Slovenian: http://saintvitus.org/culture/slovenian-heritage/ Hungarian: https://www.stelizabethcleveland.org/hu/ Slovenian: https://stmaryscollinwood.com/services/mass-schedule/ Ukrainian: https://www.sspeterandpaulucc.com/ Polish: http://www.immaculateheartchurch.org Again...in 2022 this is still alive and well! Are there any others I'm missing? Slovak? Greek? Romanian? Russian? Edited January 23, 20223 yr by MuRrAy HiLL
January 23, 20223 yr I think you've barely scratched the surface. I think you'll find at least a couple dozen that have services in native languages. Think of all of the Ukrainian, Russian, Belarusian, and Slavic churches in Parma, Seven Hills, Broadview Heights, Strongsville, etc. And then there are the Latino churches. I seem to recall St. Michael in Tremont has services in English, Spanish and Polish. "In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage." -- John Steinbeck
January 23, 20223 yr There are 5 churches that have Mass in Polish - All In the City of Cleveland - St. Stanislaus & Immaculate Heart in Slavic Village, St John Cantius in Tremont, St. Barbara on the west Side ( Denison Ave ) & St. Casimir on E.82/ Superior

Surprised Holy Rosary in Little Italy went away from offering Mass in Italian. It's gotta be decades ago when they stopped. One other to add that surprised me: Immaculate Conception on E. 41st and Superior Ave says Mass in Latin as the primary language: http://latinmasscleveland.weebly.com/immaculate-conception-catholic-church-cleveland.html And is also an extremely beautiful church.
