Posted April 11, 20223 yr In contrast to Cleveland's westside or southside, the near eastside doesn't get much love.
April 11, 20223 yr I’m kind of surprised that apartment development hasn’t jumped the inner belt on the east side yet. Some pretty obvious vacant lots over there and such easy access to downtown/near west/university circle. Edited April 11, 20223 yr by bumsquare
April 13, 20223 yr Nice pictures. What’s the ivy covered house, 8 pictures from the bottom that has a hanging sign in the front which I can’t read? On the side of the building it says something-“works”.

On the side of the building it says something-“works”. That's the Rose Iron Works on E. 43rd St. A very old and distinguished company that has produced very fine work in its long history. One of my favorites is an Art Deco screen in the Cleveland Museum of Art.
April 19, 20223 yr This is GREAT! Thank you. I recently had a visitor in from California whose dad was born in Slovenia. We only had like 2-3 hours of free time since it was a work trip, and we found ourselves driving around almost entirely the near eastside. He especially loved seeing St. Vitus and the Slovenian National Home...plus a quick pint at Goldhorn. Also side note: My mother was born in one of the houses on E. 26th Street in an old Carpathian-Ukraine section.
