I think it's time for another meet up in Cleveland. @the pope might be in town the weekend of June 18 - anybody up for a Saturday lunch meetup? The Guardians are out of town at the Dodgers that weekend, so no baseball crowds to account for. Or is the preference for weekday lunch or a happy hour? (I'm going to try adding a poll to this topic - we'll see how that goes.) Maybe we can convince @ColDayMan to make the trip up if we time it right. Well, uh, the 18th is Father's Day weekend so no on that one.  I can do another weekend in June (like literally any of them besides the 18th-19th).

I can do the 18th, just not Fathers Day the 19th.

 

But, at this point, I'm up for a happy-hour meetup any weekday in June after the 7th.

I can actually do the 18th. I don't work until that night and I have off the day before. 

I'll be busy that weekend, but see what I can make if there is something during the week. 

On vacation June 17-July 5 but will try to make any meetup if it doesn't occur in those dates!

I wouldn't be able to make it on Fathers Day (also Juneteenth) but I think I'd be able to meet pretty much any other day.

Thanks for the tag, I'd definitely prefer something during the week since I'll probably be taking time for the long weekend, but I'll keep an eye on things here...

I'll be out of the state the weekend of the 18th, but if you guys plan it for a week after that, I'd love to go and meet everyone!

We're taking a Juneteenth weekend family vacation to Maryland and couldn't attend June 18.

 

Typically weekdays work best for me though.

 

 

Right now the weekday Happy Hour has a slight preference over a weekend meetup in the voting. Any other opinions before we start planning specifics?

I could easily do a weekday lunch; weekday happy hour not as easily. 

Father's Day? Whoops. Still, I'll be in town that weekend. Fairly flexible that Saturday.

I was hoping there would be a clear winner in the poll, but the votes are really close.  Seeing as @the pope is only in town for that weekend, and that was the only option with a specific date, I'm going to suggest we plan to meet for lunch on Saturday, June 18. (Perhaps we could follow it up with a happy hour in July.) Sorry to those of you that the date doesn't work for!

 

I'm going to suggest Masthead Brewing at 1261 Superior, but I'm open to other options. It looks like a good combination of quality, price, and space. Does 11:30 work?

I'll be there no matter where it's hosted, but I am going to Masthead the very next Saturday too 😉 If I had to twist some arms, Noble beast is another good option!

I look forward to seeing you all at Masthead on Saturday at 11:30am. I called and it sounds like they have plenty of seating and don't do reservations. They open at 11:30, so I think if a group of us are there then we'll be fine for seating. I've heard from between 10-15 people who plan to come, and more would be welcome.  Since suggesting this time, I've learned that Cleveland's Juneteenth celebration is on Saturday (instead of Sunday, maybe to avoid conflicting with Father's Day?) on the Mall from noon to 10pm - plenty of festivities for anyone who wants to head over after we have lunch. See you then!

Tomorrow is the day! I plan to get there when they open at 11:30. I look forward to seeing many of you there. -Brian

So, uh, how'd it go?

Great seeing so many of you today! Here’s a couple pix. Thx for coming special guest @the pope +1,  @MayDay+1, @KJP @infrafreak @Growth Mindset @urb-a-saurus @marky_mark48  @GISguy . (Sorry if I missed anyone!) Masthead was a great place for it - wide open wall (garage doors open to the street patio), big tables, self service from the bar, good food and drink. We got to see @KJP at work trying to get some juicy details from some sources off in the corner of the bar.  After the meet up, @GISguy and I took a nice bike ride down the Tow Path trail and we decided maybe one of these meetups should be a bike tour of the active projects. We’ll see how that concept plays out , ha. 

 

And yes, successfully got some info! Good to see all of you again, too.
