I have a PDF document I want to share.  The document is a downloaded PDF of this week's issue of Crain's Cleveland to which I have a paid subscription.  I have a few questions:

1)  Since Crains is a paywalled site, Is it ok if I share the PDF?  I do own the copy since I paid for it.

2)  Is there another way to attach a PDF file to a post?  The accepted file types don't include PDF files.

Thanks!

Unfortunately it cannot be shared here as presented.  But you can paraphrase it for everyone.

The best way to do this is to take a screen shot of a PDF and share the photo instead.

It is ok to share 1-3 paragraphs of an article, with proper attribution and linking to the original source.

My question would be, does a screenshot of a pdf alter that calculus as compared to a cut and paste quote?

Does Crain's eventually open up articles after a certain period of time has elapsed?

I like to use this checklist from the Copyright Advisory Office at Columbia University Libraries when deciding whether sharing a document falls under fair use guidelines.

Doesn't seem like it.

Unfortunately, going to be cautious here and not post anything about this report from Crain's.  This report is an excellent, multi-article report on gun violence in NE Ohio.  This report takes up about 4-5 pages and it is under Crain's, The Landscape.  The title is The Heavy toll of Gun Violence.

It explains the threat to the growth and progress of NEOH and ways to address gun violence in the region.

If anyone, who subscribes to Crain's hasn't already read this, I highly recommend reading it.

Thanks to everyone for their comments and suggestions!

I believe there is a way to access Crain's digitally via the Cuyahoga County Public Library website using your library credentials.
