Added some bonus skyline shots taken on the way back from Nashville a few weeks later

Louisville is a top-5 of most urban major Southern cities.  This collection of photos proves it.

Are there any cities outside of New York, Chicago, and  San Francisco where people are actively present on the downtown streets? Absent pedestrians, Louisville has a lot of great architecture.

nice to see the 'vuhl

Thanks for the very nice photos.

I think of Louisville as an ancient place, where the Buffalo Trace finds the rocky crossing on the Ohio, and those on the river stop to go around the falls.

Louisville is a relatively old city, it prospered in the flatboat (1780-1820) and steamboat (1820-1850) eras, and before the civil war was one of the ten largest cities in the country.

Louisville's siblings -- Albany, New Orleans, Cincinnati, maybe St. Louis.

There's DC, Boston, Philadelphia, Seattle and you could argue LA if you're including Chicago as that city can be quite dead in the winter months.

I live in Chicago and yes there is some streets with little traffic during winter months, but you could say that about many cities including New York. But there is traffic throughout the downtown area from North Beach to the Museum district for the most part throughout the year. But many of the cities with photos on this forum seem void of pedestrians even in what appears to be non- winter months.
