I really like the rendering and am excited to see it in person.

Given the projected start date for construction is in October I do hope nothing derails it.

The mentioning of the metro health brt leaves me wondering if federal funds aren't awarded to the rta does that make it dead in the water? Especially since this development specifically mentions it as a catalyst I'd really hate to see the brt fall apart now after years of planning.

And of course, it's the last post on the page, so here it is for easier access...

Nice Article Ken. I’m skeptical about this working on paper and getting off the ground. Not exactly a desirable location with it fronting I-90.

That’s a nice looking building, showing that you don’t need 7 different claddings to make a building appealing. (cough cough geis….)

Maybe the city needs to tweak the criteria for applying the 100% tax abatement to a finer level.  Just because parts of a "neighborhood" are hot, doesn't mean that there aren't less developable areas within it.

I believe it’s already done by census tract, which is about the most granular you can get at this point.

Wow, that's an attractive building!

The Vega Avenue Studio Lofts received final approval from todays (4-25-25) Planning Commission Meeting. Sounded like they were planning for a September start.

Kick ass! The rendering shows a lot of promise, though I do hope it's a little more matte and not as glossy but I'll survive.

Coming off barber you really feel like you're coming out of a nice area into something really needing some TLC so this is great to see moving forward

Joy Court-Old Mill Street development gets first win

By Ken Prendergast / April 29, 2025

There’s been lots of new housing units planned lately for the Barber-Vega-Queen (BVQ) District at the north end of Cleveland’s Clark-Fulton neighborhood. But none is as large as the project that just won support from the city’s Near West Design Review Committee.

Looks good to me. I like the mix of apartments and for-sale townhomes. Seems like this developer "gets it" and hopefully this project is a success.

Wrong thread. This is in Tremont.

It's in neither. It's actually in the Clark-Fulton neighborhood, but I created this thread as a carve-out because it's kind of in a no-man's land in between three neighborhoods -- Clark-Fulton, Ohio City and Tremont.
