September 9, 2024Sep 9 It sure would be nice if they could do something with the rather unattractive backside of the rock hall. Maybe add some glass panels that light up at night in various colors. The top floor of the tower seems to be unused now, or at lease it was the last time I visited. I believe it was originally where the inductees were displayed, but they have been moved to another location. Perhaps they could install a few windows and convert it to a sky lounge. There would likely be some nice views of the city and lake from there. Edited September 10, 2024Sep 10 by LibertyBlvd

They have been keeping that little walkway hidden in most of the renderings. Perhaps the issue could be fixable with some minor improvements.
September 9, 2024Sep 9 I M Pei (aka I M Well Paid) should have tweaked the design of the backside when they moved the rock hall to the harbor.
November 7, 2024Nov 7 So excited for this. It's been a couple months, anyone with some progress pics? I'm going to try to get down there later today before it gets dark

March 31Mar 31 @dave2017 I'm impressed that they started right in on building the cooling tower for the small nuclear reactor. Need a lot of juice to run those biga$$ guitar amps. In all seriousness, we all appreciate construction photos of anything nowadays. D.O.

Yes the Rock Hall construction drone view gives off Perry or Davis-Bessie retro vibe.

April 4Apr 4 In all seriousness, WTF is this "cooling tower"? This was not visible in the renderings I've seen. Granted, that was a long time ago. Edited April 4Apr 4 by Silent Matt
April 4Apr 4 My god, they're just going to leave that as barren concrete? I'd like to see a mural on it, at least.
April 4Apr 4 lol I think the guiding concept of the expansion was 'rock n roll is raw' Edited April 4Apr 4 by Whipjacka

April 4Apr 4 By the looks of the rendering it seems like they'll probably put another layer of a material over the concrete form. At least I hope...
April 4Apr 4 What is supposed to be in the round structure? It would be nice if it was clad to match the rest of the building, but I dunno if that's the plan. Edited April 4Apr 4 by LibertyBlvd

April 18Apr 18 Rock Hall weighs options for expansion encore By Ken Prendergast / April 18, 2025 Construction is well underway on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum’s $150 million expansion at Downtown Cleveland’s North Coast Harbor. But after the new addition opens at the end of 2026, Rock Hall officials, in looking at their now-landlocked surroundings, are wondering where the museum might expand to in the future. April 18Apr 18 That seems like a slam dunk for the Rock Hall, I wonder why they walked away from that? Other than $ I can't think of a reason why. Controlling the building gives them options long term, they don't have to act on it in the short term, they can leave it as is. Turning this into offices let's them move administrative roles out of the museum giving them more useful space (which if I recall was one of the reasons for the current expansion).
April 18Apr 18 And they walked away from a $100,000 deposit plus a "free" building albeit having to take over the payments on the financing. My guess is that this was a dangle to see what the proprietary numbers (including the existing residential and tenant leases) were for a future move, which they aren't ready to do right now. And they apparently didn't want to be a landlord for however long until they were ready for the next expansion. April 18Apr 18 I have to say that the design of the RRHOF addition, currently under construction, does not reflect a concern over space constraints.
