It isn't?

The Tremont "House Crashers" episode airs Jan. 23rd on DIY Network.

There's also a Cleveland Heights episode (a basement wine-bar, I think) that will air on the 16th.

I don't think this has been noted here yet, but I saw mention that 'Hot in Cleveland' won best cable TV comedy series at the People's Choice Awards.

The power of Betty White to make such a $hitty show popular.

If they tried to sync up the audio with the puppets that would probably be watchable for me.

I actually think this is pretty funny.

It is much better.  This is where I'd say something like "my faith in channel x is restored."  But this is channel 19 we're talking about.

wow. sickly funny/sad. Less sad b/c I don't live there anymore, less funny b/c I still own property :(

WOIO Action 19 news is getting national attention for its "puppet court" coverage of the Jimmy Dimora trial as cameras, twitter, and blogs are banned:

Here's a clip:

this made the local news in San Diego this AM. sigh

It was on Anderson Cooper's "ridiculist" (or whatever he calls it) on CNN tonight.

Not sure if it was a rerun, but Cleveland was just on House Hunters again tonight.  2 townhomes in Tremont and a house on W. 32 in Ohio City.  The people already lived in Tremont and wanted a bigger place.  They ended up chosing the fixer-upper townhome in Tremont and did some nice things to it.  I loved the house on W. 32, though.

There were some nice skyline shots as well as a few good shots of the West Side Market and various places in Tremont (A Cookie and a Cupcake, Dante, Lucky's, etc.).

I saw another episode of HH, I guess a few months ago, of a KSU development executive looking for something near Cleveland.  I think he looked at some fake townhome in Pepper Pike (off of Brainard near Chagrin) and a condo in a high-rise downtown (which is ultimately what he went for I believe).  A friend of mine and I were actually just discussing this last week and apparently there was another one with a social worker that was looking in Ohio City but ended up in Rocky River.

This is awesome to me because I always got the impression from watching the show almost religiously that Cleveland and most of the Midwest (besides Chicago) wasn't good enough for HH.

The people in my office think the puppets are hilarious!  Secretly I do as well.  ::)

This woman in the Warehouse District and a couple in Pepper Pike were on my house is worth what.  Looks like the show did a series of homes in the area.

CLEVELAND - Tremont will get national attention as CNN interviews the staff of Visible Voice Books on Saturday afternoon during a "Cash Mob" event.

The Cleveland community and surrounding areas are invited to the "Cash Mob" to smile for the cameras, listen to music, and help support Cleveland.

To be a part of the national spotlight, you can go to Visible Voice Books Saturday afternoon from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. If you can't make it during that time, a second cash mob event will kickoff Saturday night at 6:30 in Coventry.

Tonight 10PM HGTV House Hunters - "Young Social Worker Seeks Vintage Pad in Historic Cleveland." (Assuming Ohio City?)

2 houses in O City and 1 in Rocky River.  Surprised he went with Rocky River home.  Wouldn't be my first choice, that's for sure.

^ Mine either, I think it came down to $$ though. I would have chosen the townhouse. They also used some stock footage for the skyline shots as the TT still had scaffolding. Altough some other shots seemed to be up to date.

This also aired again recently. I was also disappointed with the decision. The property taxes for the RR house are about $2,500 a year, versus $250 for the town home. So even with a marginal HOA fee, any discount in the mortgage for the RR house would be offset with much higher property taxes. That RR house is probably a money pit too. Oh well, lost another to the suburbs when it probably wasn't necessary!

Avengers behind-the-scenes footage. It looks like they had a great time making this, and the early word is that the film will be a big hit.

House Crashers is in Cleveland episode is showing on HGTV.

Cleveland looked great as Stuttgart, Germany and NYC in the Avengers. Looks like the base of the Terminal Tower was modified a bit. I believe I was down there one of the days they shot that scene. Only downside was that Cleveland couldn't be Cleveland in the movie. Was exciting to see.

I was an extra in the Stuttgart scenes in the Courthouse and in Public Square.  That scene in the movie turned out great.  They didn't really modify TT, just added banners, plants, lights, etc.  Love the shot of Loki walking out of TT with the camera beneath him focusing up on the tower.

This Wednesday, May 9:

Mike and Mike in the Morning LIVE at Progressive Field.  It was mentioned today, but I can't seemt to find a link.

In the movie it looks like there are 6 plus Doorway Arches to enter the building. I think there are really only 3 right? I couldn't remember exactly and haven't looked at a pic of the TT to verify.

Did you see yourself in the film though?

Nope, there are 5 I think.

I did!   About four times.  Twice in the courthouse and twice in the square.

There are in fact 7 large archways on the Public Square face of Terminal Tower.  Now, you may frequently be there when they've blocked off large swaths of the area, but the entrances are there.

That would be something... maybe not Hot pink though

THanks for the pic. I must have been thinking about just the doorways beneath the "Tower" "City" and Center" signs.

I was surprised to see the scenes from our "subway." Don't recall hearing about filming down there.

I would only go for such a gaudy sign on the Higbee Bldg if it was accompanied by a few of those flashing bulb neon "enter here" arrow signs showing people exactly where the front door was  :|

Yeah we all talked about it this morning on our ride in as we enjoyed free wi-fi and complimentary scones. Where were you?

Sleeping, apparently

Hello, Public Square, and get ready, Cleveland, for your next movie-making close-up: editorial

"Marvel's The Avengers" features a versatile character actor that stands in for New York City; Stuttgart, Germany; and someplace in Russia.

Take a bow, Cleveland. And doesn't East Ninth Street look beautiful ablaze?

With the success of "The Avengers" and pending legislation to double the Ohio film tax credit limit to $20 million a year, Cleveland should get ready for its next close-up.

The Ohio Senate already has approved the added Tinseltown lures (pdf). A companion House bill (pdf) passed Wednesday.

The tax credit reimburses production companies 25 percent of what they spend in Ohio and 35 percent of the wages paid to local labor hires. Northeast Ohio has been the biggest beneficiary, thanks to the Greater Cleveland Film Commission.

^Wow, that was painful to watch.  Tyler Perry seems seriously miscast.  Let us long for the days of Morgan Freeman when he played this character in Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider.  Not that they were great movies, but it's always interesting to watch Freeman.

The Freeman casting was an incredibly odd choice. Alex Cross is 6'4, 40 years old, has a boxer and swimmer physique, and looks like Muhammad Ali. Perry doesn't really match that description  (unless he's hit the gym lately), but Freeman????
